Survivor 1989 Ford Mustang GT Convertible "5.0 5-Speed Manual" 7 Day No Reserve Auction Bid Now! This 1989 Ford Mustang GT Convertible "5.0" is in original condition. The car is driveable and completely original. This is an unrestored bone stock car, all the body panels and sheet metal are original Ford. This car is all numbers matching and has no rust. It's an original California car sold new at Hawthorne Ford (Now South Bay Ford) and it still has its original California License Plates when new. We are a private party. We just installed a brand new Stayfast Fabric convertible top with a new glass rear window in March 2013. This car is ready for summer! The car includes the original grey convertible top boot and boot bag. All four tires are Pirellis in the correct P225/60 15" size. Owner History: We acquired this original mustang from the second owner who acquired it from the original owner, a lady co-worker in 2010. The second owner did not register the car because he planned to keep it for his son until he was ready to drive. However, the son was not interested in it so the second owner decided to sell. The car was not driven much and has only 79,232 original mile. The Auto Check Report above attests to the low mileage and the fact that it was sold in California new. The engine, transmission, rear end and exhaust are factory stock. It's quite rare to find these Fox Body Mustangs in stock form with low mileage. This car recently passed California Smog check with no problems. The license and registration are paid and current for 2013. Clean Title in Hand Despite its age, the vehicle is very original and retains all its original numbers matching components including the engine, transmission and rear end. It still has its original GT Fog Lights and wheels intact. Note: The car will come with the original matching VIN trunk lid and convertible top window glass. The second owner put on another OEM Ford trunk lid because the original one had some rust spots around the third brake light, which is a common problem with these cars. The 1989 model year saw the introduction of the first ''modern'' computer system to the Fox Body along with a full mass airflow system that replaced the mechanical air density system on the Mustang's intake. The '89's computer system was able to automatically compensate for changes in airflow and exhaust output to produce efficient air/fuel mixtures with most mild performance upgrades. The big 302cid V8 is extremely easy to upgrade and can see a significant increase in total power output with only a few engine and exhaust upgrades that turn the humble Fox Body into a roaring performance machine. 1989 was also the last year without airbags. Adjustable front seats, which had been solely a GT accommodation, are now available on the LX. More significantly, the speed density air intake system is replaced by mass air. Mass air not only reads more accurately, but also is easier to upgrade through the aftermarket. Production for 1989 topped out at 209,769. Only 19,417 GT convertibles were built that year. Only 1,237 of them were Deep Shadow Blue (code 7N) Base convertible prices was $ 14,140.00 The car has its original paint color Dark Shadow Blue and it's in fair condition for its age. The interior is the original Opal Grey Clothe Interior and is in very good condition. There are no rips, tears or cracks on the dash. The original AM/FM cassette radio and clock still works. The A/C blows air but needs to be recharged. The original 5.0 High Output EFI engine and T5 Five speed manual transmission are intact. The original engine has never been taken apart, but it still runs great. In addition, the A/C components are all intact.
