Up for your consideration is a 1963 Impala convertible base model with SS wheel covers that were added by me. I have owned the car since June 16, 2004. The previous owner from Jericho, NY owned this Impala from 1969 to 2004. In 1983, that owner painted the car, put in a new rear window and reupholstered the front seat. I would GUESS they also replaced the carpeting at that time. Also, that year the car was put in hibernation until the year 2000. In the Spring of 2000, the car was recommissioned and new Coker tires were added. The car is a pleasure to drive even with the Bias ply tires. Paint: It has luster but it is not a mile deep. There are several spots were there are scratches. Also, the paint on LH fender is crazed. Interior: Very nice with no cuts or wear. Besides the front seat the rest of the interior looks original. Engine: 283CID and it is the factory issued motor. Transmisson: 3 speed manual. Body: Nice except for the two areas just ahead of the rear tires. Please see the pictures. Top: I believe this is the original with a replacement rear window. I would not be afraid to drive this car for an extended distance. Last weekend I drove this car approximately 300 miles. You can get in this car today and enjoy it. The 283 and 3 speed are smooth and reliable. Once a year I have to top off the Power Steering and Brake fluid. Everytime I stop to get gasoline or somewhere that people are able to talk they say how beautiful this car is. I tend to agree. It is bitter sweet to sell this car but I trust it will go to a good home that will use and enjoy it.
