Vehicle Detail

First off, let me say that it is absolutely killing me to sell this bike. I have owned many (many) bikes in my 25+ years of riding, and this is by far the best bike I've ever owned. It is ultra comfortable, handles great, has every possible upgrade to make it the best Sport/touring bike imaginable, and the motor...well, if you're reading this you know about the motor. The 1100XX motor is one of the all-time great bike motors. It is super smooth, pulls from any RPM, makes a ton of power everywhere, and is as reliable as an anvil. If you are looking at the mileage and thinking I'm selling it because of that, I'm not. This bike is in better shape than 95% of bikes half its age with a quarter of the mileage. I'm only selling it because of a financial situation, and believe me when I say that if I can right the ship money-wise before this sells, I'll be ending the auction and keeping it. Don't give up hope though...you might see it again in another 100,000 miles or so :) Cosmetics: the upper fairing has a stress crack (I assume...been there since I got it) vertically on each side, about 3" long. I never bothered replacing or fixing, but you can get a replacement new for $100 on Ebay and paint if you wish). There are other knicks and little scratches here and there...the bike is in fine shape, and is no trailer queen. If you're after a pristine, never been dirty, never ridden in the rain type of bike, this isn't it. That said, it still looks good when clean. It's not all crashed up, or missing fasteners, or anything like that. I tipped it over going about 8mph a couple years ago when I ran over anti-freeze in the road as I came to a stop, and tucked the front. That marked up the left side engine cover paint a bit, but didn't leave gouges or anything like that. it also marked up the left side frame slider, but that was it. I was going so slow the bike slid about 2 feet and stopped. I was probably going even less than 8mph honestly. Did no other damage at all. In the last 10k miles or so, every issue that ever comes up on these bikes has been addressed. All of the work was done as preventative maintennance before a planned 10 day cross-country trip that got scrapped because of a family emergency. It got a new stator, a new regulator/rectifier, and a new cam chain tensioner. It uses absolutely no oil at all, and is 100% mechanically in every way. The chain, while not yet stretching, has about 12,000 miles on it and could use a replacement probably sooner-than-later...the bike will come with a brand new, uninstalled o-ring chain and both new sprockets (stock gearing). I bought them over the winter so that I'd have them when it was time. Also in preparation for that trip, every electrical connection was checked (all were good), cleaned, and greased with dielectric grease. The bike has been run on synthetic oil its entire life, and will come with one (maybe two...not sure how many I have) extra oil filter. Ok, so you know how you look at a bike ad, and it trumpets "highly modified!" and when you look at it, it's got a slip-on, and a seat cover, and maybe some goofy tank pad, and that's it. Well, this isn't that bike. If you can think of an upgrade that isn't done to this bike that would make it a better Sport/touring mount, I'd like to know about it so that I can do it on my next bike! :) Anyway...here is a _real_ list of upgrades for you, along with the prices paid for each. As hard as it might be to imagine, I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting something, but you get the idea... Penske double clicker shock - $850 Race Tech fork valving - $400 installed Sonic Springs 1.0 fork springs - $90 Corbin leather seat - $400 LSL Superbike bar kit w. stainless lines - $420 Delkevic Slip-ons - $240 Pazzo adjustable levers - $80 (got them from a friend lightly used) Givi WingRack - $300 Givi E35 side cases - $240 Givi-compatible trunk - $60 (Ebay knockoff special...works great) HID headlights - $170 (hi and low beam, 6k) Custom mirror-mount aux driving light brackets - $200 55w Halogen driving lights - $20 (the HID ones I wanted were backordered, are now avail. for $100/set...can steer you towards them) - wired to hi-beam circuit with relay, so they can come on w high beams, or you can turn them off w. switch) SW MotoTech mirror extenders - $65 Low profile frame sliders - $60 Powerlet plug - $40 Zero Gravity dark tint screen - $50 Dash lights all converted to blue LED - $120 (looks great at night, bright but not distracting) Voltage meeter flush mount in dash - $30 Hard wire for Escort or Bel radar detector - $15 Hyperlights aux flashing brake LED/turn signal combo - $100 LED plate lights - $30 Stebel Nautilus air horn - $50 Centech AP-1 switched fuse block - $50 Dual Star heated grips - $35 (under-grip type) So the total there is $4115 in upgrades. I know some of the stuff might be available cheaper (HID headlights are less now, for example) but you get the point. Every upgrade was done carefully and properly. There is not one stray wire, missing fastener, cob job, or any other issue one might find with a bike that has been modified. Apart from the fact that it needs a new rear tire here pretty quick, I would be comfortable with the buyer flying in and riding it anywhere. In fact, if you want to do that we can arrange to get a tire on it (or a new set if you prefer) before you arrive. I'll even change the oil for you for peace of mind (it's about 1k away from my normal interval). I don't know what else to say about it. Even as I type this I'm becoming more reluctant to part with it...to buy something else and bring it to this spec would cost a fortune. Oh well...my loss, and all that. If you haven't ever had a bike with this kind of mileage on it, do a little visiting at cbr1100xx.com forums. There are multiple guys on there with over 100,000 miles on their XX's, and a few with over 200,000 (really). This bike is just hitting its stride. There is absolutely nothing about the bike that 'feels' high mileage. It's tight, fast, handles great, and in general, is awesome. Can you tell that I love this bike? Ugh...part of me hopes it doesn't sell :)...but not the part that pays bills sadly. There is nothing else like this on Ebay or anywhere else, I am certain of that. Please feel free to shop around. If you find a better deal than this, I suggest you buy it immediately. Also, sorry the pics suck. The only camera I have at the moment is my phone, and it's not saving pictured for some reason. The pic of the bike loaded with bags etc. is from last month, and the lights pic is from 3 months ago. The pic where you can clearly see the handlebar conversion is from last year when I did it. There is nothing different about the bike today...you are seeing an accurate representation of the bike. Oh, and if you have 0 or negative feedback, don't bother. PAYMENT TERMS I will accept Paypal for the whole thing if you want to go that way. If you'd rather pay a deposit, then pay the rest in person (inside 3 days) or pay a deposit and mail a money order, any combination of that is fine. The deposit will be NON-REFUNDABLE, and will be $500. Regardless of payment method, I must have 100% of the money in-hand within 5 days of the sale. If you want to come see it, or even ride it , you're welcome to do so before buying. If you 'Buy It Now' you own it. If you're uncomfortable making that commitment, then don't buy it...easy. ___________________________ ___________________________ NOTE: I just added a few pics, taken with my son's Nintendo 3DS (really). I know they're still crappy, but it gives you a couple more views (bags off) plus I photographed how I have the electrical accessories wired via the Centech AP-1 box. Thanks for looking!
