Here is a 1968 AMX rolling body. This car is an original 390 4 speed car. Factory 8,000 RPM tach and 120 MPH speedometer. Car does have a posi rearend, or as AMC called it Twin Grip. Gear ratio looks to be in the 3.70 range from turning the tires over and counting pinion revolutions. It has power disc brakes on the front, and manual steering. Bucket seat car. Missing the motor and trans. This car carries dash plaque number 5849. Car came out of California in the mid 80's and has been in dry storage every since. Very little rust, just needing some patches in the lower quarters. Fenders are solid, hood appears to have a skim layer of filler in the nose, understructure is not bent up though.I have been told this is common as this is where everybody sat or leaned against and the hood would warp and need to be straightened out. Car has a very nice dash. There is one crack coming out of the passengers side defroster opening that is less than a half inch long. All glass is good. Floors are rock solid as is trunk lip and window corners, rockers, rear wheel housings and trunk extensions. Front chrome steel road wheels are included in auction, rear tires and wheels are NOT included in auction, these wheels were taken off my other car to load onto the trailer. It comes with a replacement steering column but no wheel. All parts in the pictures go with the car, if you do not see it I do not have it, with the exception of the driveshaft, it is included just not pictured.. This car is one of 2112 total produced with the 390 CID and 4 speed transmission, a total of 6,725 AMX's produced in 1968. Car will need a total restoration, but is a solid starting point and a rare car. Car is located near Topeka, Ks. You are welcome and encouraged to inspect the car where it sits. Please schedule appointments with plenty of time before auction ends. Delivery is possible for additional cost. I have references as to my deliverys if needed. Car is sold with bill of sale only, you will be able to secure a title in your state with this if needed due to the cars age.
