dimidimi63 Store This Auction is for a Pair (2 cars) of 1978 Saab 99 Turbo Kombi Vintage Rallysport Motorcars The Pewter colored car I have been driving frequently and mechanically restoring for the past few years. It drives excellent and has tremendous power once the turbo spools up. It was sold new in Corte Madera, CA and has remained in Marin county since it was new in 1978. I have every record and receipt going back to 1978. It is very rare to find one of these cars without rust, no winter use, straight no accident body, running well, and under 100k miles. Red interior, passenger seat has a seam that has come apart, see photo, has seat cover. Driver seat is Corbeau style race seat. Engine entirely rebuilt a few years ago as well as new clutch and rebuilt gearbox. This was all in the past 4,000 miles. New engine mounts. Turbo rebuilt at that time as well. Optima Gel Battery New Front Spoiler / Air Dam molded from original with Naca air duct to battery box and oil cooler vent. Inca Wheels New Wheel Bearings All new exhaust in 2012 with new cat, and CA smog tested. Original CA blue plates included. Car has original paint, which is faded on top, and especially on rear hatch. I thought about re-painting and selling for more, but I figure it is best to present the car in its all original state. Turbo graphics are still in very nice condition on the rocker panel areas. Missing original antenna and headliner. Front grill has a crack. Original factory optioned center console with original Blaupunkt stereo. Original aircraft style seat belts intact and working. Sunroof works fine and does not leak. Window seals and door seals all leak free. Car drips tiny bit of oil from cooler hose fitting when hot until cooled down. Includes new front corner light lenses and other parts. Car includes spare parts and also specially made spring spacers that can be used to lift the car for more ground clearance. When I bought the car I was intending to run it in Oregon Vintage rally. So I intended to lift it up 2", but never did get around to that. Car drives and handles well. Ok the second car is a deep red colored car that I bought for parts, but it is complete and I barely took much of anything off it. It ran when parked, but has a lot of miles on it, and as you can see in the photos there is rust on the wheel wells. The rest of it is pretty solid. This car can be restored or used for parts and I will include it as a package deal, or if buyer does not want it, you are not forced to take it, I can find someone in the Saab club for it... your choice. It does have headliner, and 2 inca wheels, and apparently a nice rebuilt gearbox, and some other great spares, complete engine, turbo, steering and suspension, pretty nice passenger seat, good dash.....nice glass all around.... Between the two you have an excellent easy cosmetic project, or leave it as is and just drive it or rally it. There are inches of receipts and records, service manual, books, etc. which i will include. If you do not have at least 96% positive feedback don't bid on this auction. Both cars are available for inspection or to go for a drive. I would not hesitate to drive the pewter car on a trip or daily. It is not perfect, but with over $13k thrown at the mechanicals in the past 5,000 miles its pretty darn decent. All parts for the engine rebuild were purchased as NOS out of Sweden or from stock shelves of Saab dealers that were called on the phone endlessly. The pewter car has about 96,500 miles on it. I say about, because the speedo cable broke about 2 months ago. This is totally truthful, the records and receipts back up all the mileage to this year exactly.
