Vehicle Detail

***PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING*** I'm putting my 1956 Triumph 6T Thunderbird up for auction. I've owned this bike for 21 years. It has a clear Texas title in my name, currently registered. I bought it as a project in 1992 but didn't get around to rebuilding it until 3 years ago. No, I did not do a stock concours restoration. I built it the way I wanted it and it has been the most reliable Triumph I've ever owned. It is a very nice bike, but I built it to be a rider, not just for show. It starts on the first kick most of the time, and runs perfect. It couldn't run any better, sounds amazing too. Here's the work that has been done.Engine:Approx 1500 miles on it since rebuild (no odometer)Crankshaft has been rebuilt with new main bearings. Big end rod bearings measured perfect so no need for a regrind, I installed new STD bearings.Cams, stockPistons/ Cylinder +.020 Hepolites with new Hastings ringsCylinder head: Aluminum 8 hole New Rowe Valves and new Rowe bronze guidesAll other parts were inspected and cleaned. CARBURETOR: NEW AMAL PREMIERE Concentric 930. ( Its the newest version of the Amal 930 after they fixed all the problems they had.) All new cables, clutch, throttle, brake, etc... Gearbox:Late preunit.Completely disassembled, cleaned, inspected and rebuilt with new bearings and seals. Primary: 1961 Late preunit inner and outer. Late Norton Lucas Alternator and rotor.New primary chain, clutch plates and springs Frame:New gloss black powdercoat on frames, swingarm and brackets. A few brackets are painted. Front end:Triumph 6T Yokes, early to mid 60s forks and 19"front wheel (not rebuilt) MCM fork cover powdercoated black. "C" model headlight with handmade support. Rear wheel:19" rim rechromed and relaced with stainless spokes Paint:Gas tank, 54? preunit Triumph tank gloss black with gold prism decal, not gold leafTool/ Battery box Gloss BlackOil tank Gloss BlackRear fender B50 rattlecanned black (was gonna change it out) Electrics:No Generator, Late Norton Lucas alternator and rotor. Puts out more than enough Battery. New, sealedTympanium rectifier, all new wiring. Factory connectors and colorsMagneto: Lucas K2F not rebuilt but works great Seat: New, but small blemish on top. Early 6T reproduction seat Here's a list of the bikes imperfections you should know about. This bike is titled as a 1956 6T. The numbers, if you do some research appear to be earlier, 1951. I have had this crankcase completely apart and there was no grinds, welds or anything to make me think the numbers had been altered. Some shop probably restamped blank cases decades ago. I have seen this a few times. I believe the engine to be a 58-later. It has the big right side main bearing. Also the gearbox and primary are late alternator preunit. Anyways, I've got a clear Texas title in MY name and the previous owner had it titled in New York in the early 70's. It is totally legit. If you have any concerns, please don't bid. I installed cheap Trials tires that handle amazingly well on the street. The front tire is a 3.50X19 that is slightly too big and rubs on the MCM fork covers slightly. I intended to rebuild the front wheel, center it better and keep it on there ,but haven't gotten around to it. Or I could put a 3.25X19 on it and the problem is fixed. Theres a few small chips and light sctratches, but none big enough to mention. The primary cover has been welded thus ruining the thunderbird logo on the front, it's a shame, but the weld has been milled flush with the cover and polished. Yes, It will leak a little oil, but not much for a 50+ year old British motorcycle. A little from the speedometer drive and a little out of the breather which is normal. I think that's it. If you have any questions and you are a potential bidder feel free to ask. I WILL SELL TO INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS. WINNER OF THE AUCTION IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ARRANGING ALL SHIPPING DETAILS. I WILL NOT CRATE THE MOTORCYCLE, TRANSPORT IT TO A PORT OR STORE IT FOR AN UNREASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME, BUT I WILL DO WHAT I CAN TO ASSIST.My postal code is 78702 if you need to reseach shipping. THANKS!
