Vehicle Detail

1991 GMC Syclone > > Hello, Up for sale is a very rare truck in exceptional condition. If you know what your looking at here then I am sure you will agree. This is a completely stock, with minor mods and all original parts it has 49xxx original miles. If you have been looking for a super clean, Syclone this is it. This truck has Ice-cold A/C, A very clean interior, New tires, car cover, All original books and even routine maintenance records. It has been keep in a covered garage under its car cover most of its life. Its still got the original paint and its in excellent shape. Even the rubber door and window seals are still nice and soft. I am not interested in any trades. I have the clean title in hand and this truck is ready to go. Never being in any accident. > > There were only 2995 of these built and this is number 5 of 2995 extra rare because the first ones are usually kept by the company. I have the original certificate of Authenticity also with the truck. > > Here is some info on the truck > > The 1991 GMC Syclone set a new performance standard for hot-rod pickups, combining turbo power, all-wheel-drive, and a sport-tuned suspension. Acceleration of the compact 1991 GMC Syclone rivaled the day's best muscle cars, and handling wasn't far behind. > > The 1991 GMC Syclone was based on GMC's regular-cab compact Sonoma pickup. It had a 108.3-inch wheelbase and a six-foot cargo box. Sonoma engine choices ranged from a mild four-cylinder to the 160-bhp 4.3-liter EFI Vortec V-6. > > The 1991 GMC Syclone used the Vortec V-6, then added a liquid-intercooler turbocharger with 14-psi boost, 8.35:1 compression, port injectors, special pistons, oil cooler, and dual exhaust outlets. That yielded a rousing 280 horsepower at 4400 rpm and 350 lbs/ft of torque at 3600. A four-speed automatic was the only transmission. > > A special "sport-calibrated" suspension lowered the ride height by two inches compared to the regular Sonoma's. Up front were independent low-rate torsion bars and a thick stabilizer bar; a solid axle on semi-elliptic springs held up the rear. Bilstein gas shocks were mounted, and tires were meaty P245/50VR-16 Firestone Firehawks on turbine aluminum wheels. > > Applying the 1991 GMC Syclone's turbo torque to the rear wheels only would have caused serious traction problems. So GMC installed all-wheel-drive. Produced by Borg Warner, the system featured a viscous coupling and 35-percent front/65-percent rear torque split. A limited-slip differential further aided grip. > > GMC said the Syclone had "the first four-wheel anti-lock braking system ever available on a pickup truck," though rear brakes were drums, not discs. > > The 1991 GMC Syclone looked the business. It came only in black, with matte-black aero-trim on the lower body and racy red "Syclone" insignia. Inside were contoured buckets, floor shift, leather-wrapped tilt wheel, and big analog instruments, including a tach and turbo boost gauge. > > Air conditioning, stereo cassette, cruise control, tinted glass, and a host of power accessories were standard. So was the handsome Lexxus TruxCover tonneau cover for the cargo bed. > > The 1991 GMC Syclone could blast from 0-60 mph in 4.6 seconds and could rip through the quarter-mile in under 13 seconds. Production was limited to 2995 trucks. > Attached are pictures of the truck. A rough list of spare parts included with the truck and thing i have done it: > > Syclone specific spare air filter housing > OEM GM upper intake gasket > OEM GM head gaskets (2) > Correct CR42TS spark plugs. I think I have 8 total but I know I have at least 6 > Spare transmission filer/gasket. I have already changed and flushed the transmission and replaced with Mobil 1 synthetic ATF. > Just changed the oil with new filter and Mobil 1 oil. > OEM Service manuals > Chilton service manual > Spare Sylcone specific upper door panel (1) > Spare front prop shaft > Spare ujoints for front propshaft and rear drive shaft. > Original piping for Upper intercooler. > Original turbo to IC rubber pipe. > Lower intercooler rubber lip - hard to find in good condition. this one is perfect. > Extra Passenger cab to door seal. The drivers side had shrunk and I replaced it. the passenger side is perfect but I bought the spare just in case. > Spare intercooler pump. > The original starter. I replaced the original to save it. It works perfectly and could be put back on for 100% originality. > Original distributor, still in great shape, i just wanted the security of the MSD distributor. > Spare transmission shifter cable - brand new. > I know there are more parts I am not thinking of right now. > > All Energy Suspension up front: sway bar bushings, control arm bushings, trans mount etc. > Stock ride height - never messed with. The truck tracks straight and no sign of premature tire wear. had the truck aligned to factory specs after rebuilding front suspension and again after buying the new tires. > > I have a binder full of receipts for all the parts i have bought. Entirely new front suspension, lots of misc parts. The tires have about 4000 miles on them. Firestone Firehawks. The original spare is still in perfect shape under the bed. > > The bed has signs of being used. There are scratches on the tailgate and bed sides. But none on the outside of the bed, just on the inside. > > A/C blows cold, all the lights/gauges, etc work. The rims are in great shape. No curb rash, dents etc. The clear coat is peeling but it is an easy fix. > > Here is a partial list of stuff I did to the truck, all the reciepts are in the binder: > Rebuilt entire font suspension with Moog and Energy Suspension parts. New tie rod ends, ball joints, center link, bushings, sway bar bushings etc. Everything was removed, stripped, painted and put back together with new parts. > New brake calipers, pads, rotors, bearings, etc. Cleaned, stripped and repainted the dust shields. New brake hoses. Entire system flushed and refilled with new fluid. Rears are in great shape and need nothing. Did put a new rear rubber brake line in just because I was already under there. > New rear diff gasket > New oil pan gasket – again just because I could while the front suspension was out. > New rear main seal – cured a leak > New Catalytic Converter. Original one worked fine but replaced when I redid the exhaust system – preventative maintenance. > Remanufactured steering box – again, just because I had the front steering off, figured why not > New remote oil filter to block lines. Original one leaked at filter housing. > New starter – same as above. Worked great and was the original. Original starter included. > New ABS hydraulic module. This was the only thing not working when I got the truck. Works great now. > New correct 4.3 MSD distributor and wires. Less than 2000 miles on them. > New silicone vacuum hoses. > New CR42TS plugs. 2nd set of 6 included > New Firestone Firehawk tires. Installed at 45,500. > New rubber seals around wheel centercaps. > New door weatherstripping. Cab to door seals. > New antenna and grommet. > New u joints in front and rear driveshafts. Preventative maintenance. > New A/C low pressure switch and replaced the Freon (R-12 not 134a) & oil in A/C system. > New Sylvania Silverstar headlights. > New Low Turbo Coolant sensor in lower intercooler. > Rebuilt throttle body with new gaskets and air foil. > New correct AC Delco PCV valves. > New Bosch O2 sensor. > New energy suspension trans mount. > New Moog torsion bar mounts > Brand new battery, Duralast Gold, Bought in June > Working Viper alarm with starter kill and door lock. Will lock doors but doesn’t allow for > unlock from remote. This is an old system from 1991 but it works well. > Intercooler hose rerouted: Input hose wrapped in heat reflecting tape and routed up driver side fender. Return line routed down passenger side fender. An auxiliary cooler was plumed behind the grill. So the flow goes from the upper intercooler, down to the lower/external one, through the auxiliary and back to the upper. ZERO heat sink on the upper cooler. After drive on a hot day the upper IC is cool to the touch and 40+ degrees cooler than the intake using an IR thermometer. The upper IC is also coated with heat Thermo-tec tape on the underside to prevent heat soak. System is filled with Water Wetter and de-ionized water. Nothing else. Have original intercooler pipes to be included in sale > Downpipe and crossover tube wrapped in Thermo-tec black header wrap and then coated with thermo-tec black sealer. > New water pump thermostat and upper and lower radiator hoses. Just preventive mantinence. > New Goodyear gatorback serpentine belt. > Vintage Borla exhaust system for Syclone. > Typhoon power mirrors. On when I bought the truck. The wiring is still in the door but I never had a need to hook up the power function, more for aesthetic. > Hard pipe between turbo and upper IC. Turbo XS blow off valve. Original hose included. > > I am sure there are things I am forgetting but as a whole this is a great driver truck in unrestored condition. > > Clean and clear Colorado title. Passes smog with no issues. It actually was cleaner when I just smoged it in July of last year than when I originally bought in in July of 2007. > > I have tried to be as honest as possible in describing the condition of the car, however i will no doubt have missed some details, so I welcome local inspections prior to bidding. > > Please don't hesitate to email with any questions. If you are buying this from across the US I will work with you and meet/deliver the truck to any local shipping company for you after you work out the details with them > > If you have anymore questions please let me know. > > Thx, David
