My wife bought this car when it was 1-year-old and had about 18,000 miles on it. She's now owned it for 20 years and put over 223,000 miles on it. The air-conditioning still works well, the engine still runs good, but the transmission recently went out. This car got 32 miles / gallon on the highway until the day it stopped moving. There are no rips in the interior, no cracks in the dash, the interior is in pretty good shape. This car has been very well maintained it's whole life with oil changes and general maintenance at regular intervals. The tires are still pretty good. The clear coat is peeling, there are a few dings, but nothing major. There is a little rust on the quarter panel around the right rear wheel but that's it, the car is otherwise still extremely solid and in decent condition. If you repair or replace the transmission you would have a good solid little car that gets 32 miles / gallon. The ac works very well and blows very cold ... 3 of the 4 fan speeds work (one of the middle speeds doesn't work anymore). It's now time to replace the timing belt. The transmission went out 2 or 3 days before the day I planned on doing that. The parts (timing belt and tensioner) are only $53.00 at O'Reilly's Auto Parts. The water pump on this car is not driven by the timing belt, and this is not an interferance engine. A new torque converter was put on it about 6 months ago. Thanks for looking!
