Vehicle Detail
I bought this car from its original owner in 1986, and was well cared for, regularly serviced (passing California emissions standards), and used as a daily driver until about 1996, when it was stored off-street and run infrequently. It has not been driven since 2000, when it was running (though in need of a tune up). It was stored in a warehouse till 2007 when I pulled it out with the intention of getting it running again and finding a new home for it. I had the injectors cleaned (at Cruzinperformance dot com . I can provide the data on request) and local mechanics replaced the fuel pump and cleaned the fuel system. The mechanics confirmed the fuel pump and injectors were operating but couldn't get the engine to run smoothly (in the process they lost the keys...). My problem getting the car running, I believe, is lack of competent local mechanics with familiarity with the p1800es. I have searched locally, and no reputable auto shop is willing to take on the car due to its age and uniqueness. The body is in good shape, with the exception of a ding on the passenger side (see photo) and a dented grill. The grill damage was the result of an incompetent tow-truck operator, and not from a collision. The body has some minor rust (again, see photos). The under carriage looks good, with the only rust I can see being in the exhaust system. There are no door keys and the wipers are not working (parts are intact, and motor is working, I just didn't have the patience to get the cables on correctly). I believe everything else was functioning when it was running. I have a replacement clock (not pictured) and new ignition key assembly included with a box of miscellaneous parts (including passenger side mirror, hood insignia and various knobs that are missing from photos) and manuals (including an original service manual, that is in poor condition, but complete) that will come with the car.
