This is an original 1954 Corvette that I purchased as a stripper car back in 1990. Its gone thru complete restoration from ground up and I have receipts and photos of each stage of reconstruction. The paint , interior and engine compartment is flawless . There is so much to write about this car I don't know where to begin but I'll try ! I found this at a swap meet visiting my brother in Milpitas Ca. back in 1990 . It was a body laying on a flat bed trailer ,didn't roll ,99 % of the parts were stripped and I bought what was left and had it trailered back home to Illinois where I proceeded with the ground up restoration. Every part was aquired for this car , a new Eckler's front end was installed ,doors ,deck lid and hood ,,,Paint was professionally done by a good friend thats been painting Mercedes for 35 years . The interior was done by the renowned Ogden Top & trim in Berwyn ,Il, The engine trans and differently was completely rebuilt by my brother in law which was a corvette mechanic working for a chevy dealer . Everything on this vehicle works exceptional , Engine has only 1100 miles on it since restoration was completed in 1993 ,, Since then its won tons of trophies , best of shows and money displaying it . The paint is flawless and has always been garage kept under cover and only driven on superior days ,,,There are only two things that don't work on the car ,, the wipers which are cable drawn are there and vacuum motor but was never hooked up . I never found myself driving it if the weather was threatening so didn't worry about it . The other is the horn , just never had the contact to put in , I never needed to use the horn so it didn't bother me either . Other than that this car is perfect with detail abounding from the interior ,trunk compartment to the engine compartment ...( See photos ) Its hard to describe a corvette that has been mine since 1990 and been part of me for so long and to make the decision to finally let it go to a good home ..I will surely miss it has I have many of my cars in my lifetime . Unique features of this Corvette : One and only tinted glass windshield on 54 vette in the world , Windshield came from Peru ,S, America . The paint on this car is all custom blend and in some lighting casts emerald green comes out . Parts were obtained from across the continent . Every effort to make this an outstanding show car was taken . It accelerates exceptionally with a 370 posi rear ,close ratio hurst shifter , This car has the stamping number on the frame to prove its original , this is why I bought it because I know it would always be a collectors car and always worth more than I put into it ..You can buy this car knowing it will never lose its value especially when there was only 3640 of these 1954 corvettes made .
