1958 Mercury Sabre

1958 Mercury Sabre 16' utility ski boat. These boats were handcrafted in the 1940's~1960's in Burbank & Piru Ca, owners of such crafts were John Wayne and Howard Hughes. This boat is nice little boat that needs some attention to get her in the water again. Nice hull and deck & transom, varnish is pretty good and the interior of the boat is clean with no evidence of any visible rot. The bottom is an older glass job and I'm not sure how it it is but there is some light peeling and I would recommend some service to the bottom is needed. The motor is a Gray Marine 6 that appears to run good and is properly winterized. The boat needs the following: Gas tank, floor boards, seat risers, exhaust elbow for Gray Marine 6 Cyl, rubber step pads, flag poles, a few misc items. The trailer is excellent with newer tires and will go anywhere. Title for both boat and trailer is included. This is a great little project and a super cool boat with local Lake Tahoe history and North Ca lakes, only fresh water used. LOW LOW LOW Reserve and I may drop it to your high bid. Boat has the inside wood varnished panels and they are in good shape. Motor box is solid, needs stain and varnish or interior material. You will need to have the actual interior done as well. Overall a great solid little boat for the hobbyist and collector. The inside of the boat and bilge area is very clean and nice with no oil leaks. Also the chrome on the boat is excellent.
