The "Inside Out" project Finally finished and ready for Immediate purchase today is the BAD ASS 1953 GMC 3100 many have been asking about. Other then the highly patina'd body, EVERYTHING IS NEW and detailed to the highest show car standards. The truck needs nothing but for someone to turn the key and go. If you are looking for one of the kings of custom high end rat rods, here it is so do not miss out. We build many vehicles throughout the year but only one gets this much attention and detail. The body: The body, thank God shows its age, it couldn't be a better canvas to show the distress from 60+ years of weather, and the normal abuse any farm truck has been through. With the body off the frame we replaced the floor pans, dash board floor braces and rockers, with replacement parts from Eckler's Chevrolet. We did not want to take the outer body any further. Underneath the hood you will notice is just as detailed as the chassis. We welded up 95% of all the holes in the firewall to clean it up. The engine compartment been sand blasted primed and painted. The bed has been lifted up 4 inches to clear the c-notch. A steel frame that that is attached to the chassis in 6 locations holds the wood. The wood used in the bed is tight grain pine that is over 100 years old, that was used as shelving 70 years ago at a downtown shop here locally. With the mahogany stain and 6 coats of urethane clear this will be the area you spend waxing. With the exception of the corner glass and driver door windows all the glass is new. All the glass has been removed and replaced with new seals. All the window channels were in great shape. The entire vent wing assemblies are NEW. ALL of the seals and weatherstripping thoughout the truck have been replaced not just the ones you see. Interior: The interior is just as sharp and detailed as the restof the truck while still maintaining a level of class most show cars don't even offer. We went with a rustic and distressed style vinyl on the seat and door panel that we custom made for the truck. We have painted the entire inside cab and door jams using SEM Brier brown and saddle on the dash and installed a new headliner. The dolphin gauges give you your info and the Lokar legendary shifter gets it through the gears. All the lights, electric wipers, and indicators work as they should because the truck has been completely and professionally rewired from front to rear using a painless 12 circuit system. All connections have been silver soildered and heat shrinked for ensured protection. All the switches and connectors are new. The headlights also function as the blinkers and running lights, they have a LED signals built into them. The radio delete has been modified to accept the air ride switches and air gauge. Engine:The engine is powered by a highly detailed tuned port fuel injected small block with a 4spd automatic 700r4 transmission just as detail as the rest of the motor. The engine runs great and sounds bad ass through Pypes stainless steel mufflers and custom made NASCAR style boom tubes mounted in the running boards. With the fuel injection its very reliable and fuel efficient. The engine has been disassembled, inspected and resealed for this build. The engine was spotless and dry prior to the reseal and installation and remains that way. A 700r4 gets the power to the 8.5 1rst gen camaro rear with some highway gears also for fuel economy. For Fuel delivery we used a MSD inline fuel pump and a brand new factory tank fabricated for the fuel injection. It has has a slosh cup and return line installed and remains in factory location behind the seat. The New large core aluminum radiator and electric fan keep it at 190 all day here in the heat and the engine maintains 30+ oil psi at temp. Suspension & Chassis Every bit of this suspension is new, this is were the majority of time has been spent. Not a penny was spared or any detail overlooked as you can see from the build in process pictures. The chassis is original, we boxed and converted it to independent front suspension with tubular control arms and a triangulated 4 linked and C notched rear. It has 13in Corvette power brakes on all 4 corners with drilled and slotted rotors, stopping the Riddler 20x8 chrome wheels on a dime. All the bag lines have been hard lined and mounted to the chassis. All the lines and hoses are mounted nicely and concealed as best as possible given the amount of space this truck has to offer. The truck lays out well and tucks the big 20's no problem and no rubbing. The chassis was completely disassembled after mock up, sand blasted then was painted using SW single stage Black urethane. The other parts and pieces including front control arms, shocks, rear trailing arms have been base cleared with SW Arctic silver. This truck is ready to go and you will not find another one like this with the attention to detail and craftsmanship that this one offers. You can drive this truck anywhere and it is kind of a kick going down the highway. I invite you to come check it out and our other project in person. If you can't make it send an inspector.
