Let this be your next (or first) 4x4! Everyone knows the Cherokee is the best 4x4, and this one already has the expensive work done for you. 1997 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4-Door 4x4 VIN: 1J4FJ68S2VL594767 192,000 miles I purchased this Cherokee in 2002, and it has been my everyday driver. It is in pretty good shape for its age, and even though the mileage is high it's only been driven about 10K miles per year since 2002. The rear main seal, and other engine gaskets were replaced last year after the Rancho 3" lift was installed - all of this was professionally installed at a reputable 4x4 shop in Phoenix. This is an Arizona Jeep, with no rust anywhere. Over its life there have a been a few minor fender-benders, but nothing major. You can see in the pics that the RF headlight bezel and quarter panel show impact signs (originally occurred with previous owner); and in 2009 someone rear-ended it at a stop light. The rear bumper and trailer hitch were replaced, and the tailgate realigned. The new bumper is now scratched again from loading and unloading heavy gear, but it was replaced. I've never taken this Cherokee for recreational off-road driving (tragic, I know, right?), though it has seen some off-highway location work. It's been a great driver, and I'm selling it because I finally upgraded to a 2011 Liberty - otherwise I would still be driving it today (and aside from being garaged for the last 6 months, I did in fact do just that, taking it to get washed for the pics). The reason for the Emissions Failure noted in the vehicle report was due to the "check engine" light being on at the time of inspection...apparently that's a cause for failure in AZ. That issue was fixed and the vehicle passed with flying colors a few days later. Once acceleration levels off the selected vent position returns. This can be annoying, and the source of the vacuum leak has never been found.When sitting for more than an hour the fuel pressure seems to bleed off, prolonging engine starting. I remedy this by turning the key to the on position for about 2 seconds, repeating three times, and then starting the engine. This runs the fuel pump three times and solves the pressure loss. Though this has been looked at by a mechanic, the source of the trouble was not found. I am selling this locally, this means you need to pick it up. I will not partake in shipping scams, so don't even try. If you can, I suggest taking a look at this Cherokee in person, it's the best way to know you are bidding on what you want.
