Classic Autoworx presents this beautiful, generously restored and tastefully modified, 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback for your consideration. This is a car that has very little expense spared and is a real blast to own and drive. Roughly 200 miles since completion, only a few very small finishing touches remain. This car has all of the looks of a classic Muscle Mustang, but with the hydraulic clutch and Tremec TKO 600 5spd, much better drivability over stock. Please view the photos of this beautiful vehicle and enjoy the video. If you have any questions feel free to call or email us. ----- VIDEO ----- UPDATE 3/27/13: TRUNK MAT / TOOLS AND DECAL KIT NOW IN. BODY/ PAINT: The body on this beautiful Mustang is super straight. No evidence of accident damage or heavy use of body filler. No rust anywhere on this car. I have taken many pictures of the underside as to show the condition. Being that the car was purchased as is, you'll have to make your own speculations regarding originality. The paint on the car presents beautifully. It’s not a flawless show car, but it looks fantastic. You can see that the car was given a high quality finish in the original color – Gulfstream Aqua - while disassembled and care was given to paint the car right. Often times you see cars that missed being painted under the rocker panels or they are light around the lower portions of the car. This one was done right. The underside is very clean and was sprayed with a bed coating type material. It helps make for a quiet ride inside the car. All of the lines, clips, retainers…etc were replaced or restored. The underside of this car is nearly immaculate. Frame rails exceptional. It does not look like a floor jack or jack stands have been anywhere near the frame rails on this car. We could go on and on… but it’s fair to just sum it up by saying that the car was finished to a high quality. New weatherstripping throughout. Exterior light fixtures front and rear, including fender side marker lights and hood indicators are new. All trim and bumpers are straight and in great shape. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INTERIOR: The interior on the vehicle is in excellent condition. The upholstery, door panels, sun visors, headliner, carpet, dash pad, all restored and as nice as can be. Needs nothing but a new driver! All lights and gauges work with the exception of the fuel gauge which only needs the wiring run to the new fuel tank sending unit. Radio not currently installed, but may have one in place before auctions end. This is the type of vehicle that you can get in, hit the key and drive comfortably. The window scissor assemblies and rollers have been replaced. The car features optional factory tinted glass, column mounted tachometer with adjustable shift light, Hurst 5spd shifter and factory fold down rear seat. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Engine/Transmission Factory C-Code 289 V8 engine, upgraded with Edelbrock Go-Fast parts such as, model 1406 4v Carburetor, Performer aluminum intake and Edelbrock Performer camshaft. Hedman ceramic coated headers, Mallory Unilite electronic distributor, Taylor performance wires, remanufactured radiator, newer belts and hoses.. runs very strong. The transmission is a performance built Tremec TKO 600 5spd manual. Hydraulic / Kevlar clutch and components from Modern Driveline. Over $3,800 invested into transmission and clutch parts alone! Rear end is a 1969 Ford 9” with a Detroit Locker and new Richmond 3.73 gears. Custom fabricated flull length 2 ½” dual exhaust with H-Pipe. Mufflers are by Flowmaster. Sounds awesome, as can be heard in the video. Runs and drives fantastic. Just a real fun car. Should provide years of enjoyment with continued proper care and service! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brakes, Steering, Suspension and Structure The power brake system on this beautiful car was restored top to bottom, including the front disc brake calipers. All components look to be new. Steering components look good and were rebuilt / replaced during restoration. There are no rust issues with this car. Everything looks solid and the frame, floor pans, trunk and all underside components look to be in great shape. The wheels and tires are brand new – Reproduction 15x7 Styled Steel wheels with new center caps. New BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. 225/60/15 – Front, 235/60/15-Rear – Less than 10 miles on wheels and tires. The look is pure muscle car. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- JAMBS AND TRUNK The jambs are all finished nicely to match throughout the car. Door striker plates, courtesy light switches and latches were not paint, which is correct. More evidence to support that the car was assembled with care and while disassembled. The trunk has been finished out as well with new paint. A new factory style trunk mat is on order and will be installed into the car within a few days along with spare tire tools. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you are seriously interested in this beautiful 1968 Mustang Fastback and would like to speak regarding a serious offer, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
