1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Willow Green Running and Driving Here we have for sale a nice 1972 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia Willow Green coupe. This is a running and driving ghia. It drives and stops great! This was the first year of the factory disc brakes. The car is in nice condition but has patina. The WIllow Green paint is faded in some areas. The original wheels and tires are still on the car. The windows are all nice, the front has a little clouding on the bottom. The chrome bumpers are patina'd. The chrome is checked and cracked on the top. I believe the car has been repainted. There was some filler put on the nose and on the upper rear quarter panel that has chipped off. You can feel from the underneath and its not from rust. I am not sure why it was applied. There is some bubbling in the paint on the engine lid and rocker panels of the car. The car is real straight otherwise. The original tires are cracked. The engine looks all there and possibly original. It has an AE block which is indicative of the 72' year. The coil, carb, air cleaner, everything looks original. The battery is loose in the engine compartment. There is still the original tar board lining the engine compartment. The engine smokes a little bit when you first start the car. The interior of the car is all original. There is a cool short shirt EMPI shifter on the car. The car shifts smoothly and the clutch works great. The original seats and everything else is old on the interior. The interior needs restoration. There are pop-out rear windows. The passenger window crank is broken but the windows still go up and down. The headliner needs to be replaced, and same with the door panels. Looks like there is a little rust through in the pans of the car, where the passengers would put there feet. There is the original jack in the car. The lights, horn, windshield wipers and turn signals all work. This is a nice original car that has great patina on the outside. The exterior of the car has a great look, if you are not worried about the few little issues. The interior can be kept as-is or restored.
