Vehicle Detail
Offered for sale is an extra nice Terra Turbo Diesel 4X4, with 102,853 miles. Most of these Scouts have rust issues or worn out tired motors. This one has been a southern Texas vehicle its whole life and has no rust, never has. It runs strong and rides and drives right. It was repainted back in its original colors: Winter White, with a whole new stripe kit and decals from Scout. The interior was re-upholstered with new Old Stock International Russet Plaid Cloth and carpeted with new original russet color carpet. This facelift, inside and out, was done about 3 years ago and since then has been kept stored inside a shop building when not being driven. Everyone that sees this Scout comments on how beautiful it is. It has the original polycast wheels including a matching spare. The Goodyear tires have little wear. The bed has a sprayed in bed liner. This Scout has Power Steering, Power Brakes, Tilt Steering Wheel and Cold Air. It has the close ratio T428 4 speed transmission and 3.54 rear axle gears, so it will drive at highway speed just fine. Everything on it works: all lights, gauges, horn, radio, a/c, etc. I was told that the original owner had it until about 4 years ago and it's been in the same family since then. Also included in this auction are the owners manuals, 1980 Scout brochures, the original title, original line setting ticket and even a 1980 Pickup Van & 4WD magazine with a near identical Terra on the cover. The magazine features a very informative 6 page article on the Scout Turbo Diesel. These diesel Scouts really hold their value. I've seen them go for over $15,000 and one just sold for $13,600 here on eBay (it had 60,000 more miles on it than this one). I believe the Terra pickup model is the rarest, you just don't see as many of these as the regular Scout II. This Terra was built on the last day of production and could even be the last International Terra Scout ever built. This could be confirmed by the Vehicle Identification Number. Recently serviced and all filters changed. If you've been waiting and watching for one of these, that is in a near impossible to find condition, here it is. This truck is a 1980 truck, not a new vehicle, so it is being sold "as is" with no warranty. Anyone wanting to come and see this vehicle and inspect it for themself before the auction ends, would be welcomed to do so. For what I am offering to sell, I have a very reasonable reserve. Serious bidders only. AFTER LISTING THIS TRUCK WE NOTICED THAT THE FIRST PICTURE LOOKS LIKE IT HAS A DENT IN THE REAR ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THERE ARE NO DENTS, SCRATCHES OR DINGS, ETC. THIS AREA IS A SHADOW FROM OUR TREE.
