Vehicle Detail

Offering my matching numbers 67 Plymouth GTX. It has not been on the road since 1978. It was originally from Kentucky, but I rescued it from a barn here in central Indiana last year with intentions of restoring it myself. Luckily for you I am buried in other projects and won't be getting to this one anytime soon. I can keep it on the back burner or offer it to someone who can bring it back to life. I have already accepted the fact that I might lose some money trying to find this one a good home but I can use the space. Good luck in bidding! This is a great car to restore but it does have needs. The good points are: It's not $150,000!All matching numbers including the engine, carb, distributor, radiator, exhaust manifolds and rear end. Nothing disturbed! Correct 440 with 727 automatic and console Clean Indiana title and includes keys The engine turns over and is not locked up. (I have not tried to start it but I assume it will run). It has the correct, original interior with a console in great shape (no cracks) and the rare factory tachometer and GTX only 150 MPH speedometer and GTX trim between the rear seats. Rear seats are still very good condition and the door panels are nice. The floor pans and the trunk floor are in really good shape with only one small rust hole in the passengers side front floor board. The rest of the floor is very nice and solid. The trunk pan is perfect! Other than the obvious rust issues in the lower quarters, the body is very straight and filler free. The car has all its original GTX emblems and trim. The RS 23 trim tag is still present under the hood and I do have the Indiana title showing GTX as model. This is a real GTX and all of the impossible to find stuff is present. Comes with two nice, rust and filler free front fenders (not shown)Comes with correct dual snorkel air cleaner Bumpers and glass are good conditionI do have all the front grille parts and headlight assembly for drivers side. Not so good: Car has normal lower quarter panel rustWhat it needs:Full restoration AKA...Time and moneyNeeds lower quarter panels and outer wheel house repair. (Note: I do have a nice factory air, 67 Belvedere with rust free quarters, perfect dog house, bumpers, glass, etc that will be available to winning bidder before I list it for sale separately) Small patch on front passengers side floorboard (approx. 3" x 4") Look over the photos and ask any questions that you feel are important to your purchase. Please ask your questions before you bid. The car is centrally located in Indianapolis (within a day drive of 50% of the US). I can help with shipping and may be able to deliver for a fee. Please review my feedback and bid with confidence. Reserve is thousands less than I have in it and very reasonable. I reserve right to cancel auction as I have local interest already. I will not cancel auction after the reserve has been met. I have had several inquiries as to the reserve. I won't respond to those, however we are heading in the right direction with a little way to go. I added a few photos this morning, but for some reason they are coming out blurry. I am sorry for the quality of the photos. Hopefully, you can see that the rear seat is good, the door panels are all good. The steering wheel is the original and the floor pans are good and solid. The picture of the trunk pan shows a bunch of dirt, but it is perfect! I took a picture of the air cleaner, the radiator and the rear trunk rail that shows the build number. The VIN tag reads RS23 as it is supposed to for a GTX. The engine numbers from the front pad are as follows: C 440 B and on the lower line 4 13 HP. The engine casting number is shown written on the side of the fender shown in the new photos (white fender with numbers...). The carb tag is shown and the radiator numbers are 2785936 and 61018. All the numbers have been checked and confirmed to be correct by Ken Mosier at noted Mopar restoration shop Finer Details "AKA King of Mopar". Please forward any questions you may have and I'll do my best to get back with you. Good luck in bidding - 4 days to go. On Mar-18-13 at 09:01:00 PDT, seller added the following information: Thanks to all who are actively bidding. Over 5000 page views tells me that there is a lot of interest in this GTX. Now almost 300 watchers (some bid snipers?) and 19 current bidders. We are nearing the reserve but still have a little ways to go. I'm pretty confident that it will meet reserve (which is thousands under what I have in it and certainly less than it is worth). This is an easy resto for someone with the time to do it, you won't have to chase any parts! One item to note: This car DOES have wheels. They are stock 14" steel wheels and nothing special. They have tires that hold air and the car rolls and steers fine. There are a couple of 14" rally type wheels that will go with it also. The car is buried in the back of my warehouse and it will take a couple of hours of advance work for me to dig it out. Auction ends on Thursday morning. Realistically, Friday night would be the soonest I could get it rolled out. Finally, I have had several offers to sell parts off of this car. At this point, I am not interested in parting out the car but a $900 offer for the tach was tempting. If the car does not meet reserve, I will take offers on parts. Thanks again and good luck bidding! On Mar-18-13 at 09:48:30 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to confirm, Yes this does have the 375HP Super Commando engine and "bulletproof" Torqueflite 727 transmission. I just checked current values and found Hagerty.com showing average value at $31,781. Their range shows from $22,500 to $63,300 for the 440 automatic cars "with colors making an astonishing difference in value and saleablity" - according to their site www.hagerty.com. NADA pricing guide showing values from $23,500 to $70, 035 for the 440 cars and Hemmings Motor News showing the range from $18,000 to $43,000 in their 2010 pricing report. Bid accordingly. On Mar-19-13 at 14:59:44 PDT, seller added the following information: RESERVE HAS BEEN MET - CAR IS SELLING TO HIGH BIDDER! Over 6000 views and over 300 watchers! Thanks for your interest. Please ask any questions you may have before you bid. I'll do my best to get back with you quickly.
