Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is my 1972 Honda CB450 K that has been turned into a Cafe Racer. I purchased the bike about 8 months ago from a good friend of mine who found the bike in a barn years prior. The back end of the frame was chopped off and custom bullets were machined to fit in the frame tubes. They signals front and rear are brand new. Carbs were recently jetted but will need some tuning. The seat is an old skateboard deck I had covered at a local upholstery shop and the bottom was stained. The seat is attached by a custom hinge that is pinned on either side. Both pins can be pulled to completely remove the seat for maintenance. The license bracket is new as well as the LED taillight. The bike runs off of A123 battery packs that unfortunately are not strong enough to turn the motor over so the bike requires to be kick started or jumped with cables. I rode the bike about 40 miles today on the 10th and about 50 miles on the 8th. The fuel line for the left carb struggle sto send a good flow of fuel to it and sometimes it's hard to idle and you have to keep the rpms up to keep it from stalling. As I said I have rode it a lot recently but it's going to need some fine tuning. The foot pegs for both sides are back where the passengers were before. The brake arm and pegs are custom machined as well. The front brake perch and handle come with the bike but can't be mounted with the current bars due to the tach and the low drag bars. The tank was painted to look nostalgic with primer and bondo showing underneath the clear coat. When the tank was painted it was not intended to be permanent and gas has been spilled on it and stained the paint. The left carb bowl also leaks slightly. I think that about sums up what I have for sale. I am selling because I am looking to buy a newer Harley and I also have an old muscle car and don't need so many toys. I want this to go to someone who can appreciate the bike for what it is. It is by no means a show bike, but it turns heads everywhere I ride it. If you have any further questions feel free to email myself. It is also for sale locally so I reserved the right to end at any time. I will not ship the bike, it is for local pickup only. It is located just outside of Toledo Ohio. Buyer must set up a time and date to pickup the bike within 2 days of bid end and actually pick up within 7 days. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
