Vehicle Detail

Up for sale in this auction is a relatively rare find. This is a very stock and unmolested original 1967 Chevy Camaro. This car has been in the same family for the last 28 years, and garage kept the majority of that time. Everything works, lights, wipers, stereo, ect. It even has the original jack and spare tire hold down. It originally rolled off the assembly line with a 230 straight six engine and a powerglide automatic transmission and body in butternut yellow color with a black vinyl top. Somewhere along the line the engine was changed to a 1968 250 straight six. The current engine ID # is F1025BB 18N5 A. This confirms that it is a 1968, but I can’t tell whether it is a 230 or 250. The previous owner claims that it is a 250 cid, but I can’t verify this. The body is in very good shape for the age, showing very little rust, with some dings and scratches that should be expected. Maaco repainted the body quite some time ago and the paint is in fair to good condition. This little Camaro runs and drives very well and I would drive it anywhere. The interior is in good overall shape and is original, other than the lime green carpet someone installed at some point and the stereo. I don’t believe the 14” ralley wheels are original, but they look great and the tires are in very good condition. The body is in very good condition especially the floors, they are solid with no rust that I can see at all. The frame rails and sub frame are also very straight and solid, I can’t find any evidence of any rot, which is rare for a first gen car like this one. The only rust I can find is along the rear wheel openings, which have been repaired rather poorly. There is a little rust under the vinyl top around the front and rear windows, and the trunk floor has some rust on the inside, due to a carpet that they placed in there which acted like a sponge. There is also some very minor rust in the rear shock towers, but again, it is very minor. This car would make a GREAT starter for a hot rod , resto mod or daily driver. The odometer shows 161,542 miles. As far as options, there are very few, just vinyl top, Powerglide automatic transmission, ralley wheels and AM/FM cassette stereo ( owner installed).
