Fl;ying Brick! 23700 Miles. The best, most reliable BMW I've owned; and I've had many! A 1000cc sport touring bike with original luggage panniers and BMW topcase. I'm the third owner. I purchased it about four years ago. I have no reason to doubt the mileage. The first owner had a minor crash in the second year of ownership (first big bike) and parked it for 20+ years. I spoke with him after finding his name/address in the rear seat storage compartment. The second owner purchased it and had a BMW dealer renew any parts that suffered from storage. The second owner was quite mature in age and short-legged and reported it "scared him" so he rode it very little. I purchased it with 16K miles and have ridden it almost exclusively two-up touring with my wife. With two full size adults and all touring and camping gear it cruises effortlessly at freeway speeds. In the twisties its a joy with sufficient torque to pull up a mountain curve without dropping a gear if you're lazy. It has some some minor blemishes on the fairing, the result of a static roll over in parking lot: easily fixed or lived with. Tires are good and the drive splines won't require gease for another 5K miles. I am a 40 year BMW mechanic and have been through this mc. I'd leave for a x-country tirp on it without a second thought.
