Vehicle Detail

F-250 Hunting Buggy, RockCrawler, Off-Road, Desert Machine... it can do it all... Powered by a V-10 gasoline... hi-lo-transfer case. Warn locking hubs. 52" Michelin XZLs on 20x14 double bead lock rims. Military 10 lug rims. Seats four huge people... Most of the pictures were taken as the build was progressing... the entire cab was moved back about a foot so the front tires would clear the firewall. Put four of your friends in and go anywhere... rides real smooth on the highway. This machine is a blast drive on the street... yes, street legal (check your state laws) I drive this once a week on the highway here in Tucson AZ. Titled as a 2001 F-250 truck... DMV would not let me title it as a sandrail or dung buggy...so in many states you must run the mudflaps... but titled as an F-250 makes it easier to insure... No liens on title. Would take a trade... Corvette or Porsche 911 Also would trade for another F-250 4x4 truck, gas only as diesels are too front end heavy in mud etc. That way I can start another project!!! More pictures coming soon... I started 5 years ago with a perfect condition F-250 that was a theft recovery... I wanted to use a solid truck to do this build. Once I got to the point of being able to drive it, I had so much fun with it I never got around to completely finishing it... It's really fun. Now I want to build a full tubular rock buggy... I have been building custom vehicles for 28 years, JD3.com. I can add a boom in the bed, like a wrecker boom, with an electric winch, to hoist elk, moose, deer for field dressing... I can also build doors at an added cost if you so desire. Jeremy 520-241-8888 my cell On Mar-04-13 at 18:16:12 PST, seller added the following information: Update: To answer some questions... it has power steering, factory, which works fine in sand, mud, snow... if you have the front tire wedged between two rocks, the power steering it not strong enough to bend the rims or break the tie-rod.. if you need a more powerful steering, add a rock ram... but then it is not legal to drive on the street... with that type of power ram, if a hose breaks, the ram will lock out full left or full right... dangerous to drive on the street. The front and rear axles are stock one ton axles... upgraded to manual Warn hubs... the axle ends have machined steel plates to convert them from 8 lug to 10lug military/commercial truck rims. The wheels are 20x14" wide, double beadlock rims, 10 lug... made by Stazworks. Tires have 90% tread left on them... The engine is a Ford, V-10 fuel injected... automatic trans, electric transfer case. Has a full cage over the motor, hidden under the hood... pics tomorrow... Speedo is by GPS, included. All dash and stock gauges removed for the full military look. NO A/C... this was designed as an open vehicle... as I mentioned I can build doors if you need them for winter, but it's an open vehicle, like driving a Jeep with the doors off... Truck has a full internal roll cage... 3" seat belts... anyone that has driven off-road knows you don't want shoulder harness... that's how you get car sick... rocking side to side. Holds about 30 gallons of fuel... steal skid plate protects the tank. Has removable steps that side out of the receivers... More pics of interior and dash tomorrow... On Mar-04-13 at 18:19:02 PST, seller added the following information: Hate typos sorry... steel plate covers fuel tank... On Mar-04-13 at 18:29:10 PST, seller added the following information: Anyone that is truly interested would buy a plane ticket and fly into Tucson... drive it, go off-road and spend a day in the machine... So although I'm happy to see 2500 people look, and a few bids, there are no serious buyers that I can see... A serious buyer will fly in... so asking what axles I used or who made the rims are BS questions.... lol Also, going to my website to see my builds will say a lot.... JD3 On Mar-05-13 at 08:25:06 PST, seller added the following information: Correction on height The machine is 8 feet high, give or take a couple inches... On Mar-05-13 at 15:10:12 PST, seller added the following information: Ok, many people have asked me what the reserve is... no problem... It is currently $24,200... and it is set at that because I have another project I want to build. I want to build a full tube cage rockcrawler... and to do that I want to start with a solid truck, V-10, 1 ton axles, transfer case etc for the 4x4. I will also need military beadlock wheels and 54" tires... To find a good truck to use as the donor, plus rims/tires will cost me $20k. So if I can't meet the reserve price, I will, in 5 more days, cut this truck apart and use all the components to build the tube frame buggy. I'm sure I could go to a junkyard and buy all the needed parts for less, but my luck, none of it will be any good, trans will be shot, engine will have a bad main bearing... :( and I don't want to go through all that BS to save a couple grand... So, there you go... reserve is $24,200 (to pay for part of all the labor I've done...) If you are really interested, call me, 520-241-8888 and make a deal... I will end the auction early. I can do so as it is listed locally for sale a s well.... First come, first to own... I just want to start building my rockcrawler.... On Mar-06-13 at 21:41:20 PST, seller added the following information: Today I added some dash pics... The interior dash and center console is similar to a Hummer H1, with the console turned and facing the driver... Just basic gauges... no radio, no A/C, no heat, although adding heat is super simple by splicing into the heater hoses off the engine. It will have the gauges in the panel that faces the driver. Truck will be painted the military sand/gray as the dash is now. On Mar-06-13 at 21:48:39 PST, seller added the following information: If you want doors, I can do so at added cost... if you want the center console all enclosed on the sides to hold jackets, gloves etc, I can do that as well... for an added fee. You tell me what additional work you want done and I will give you a ballpark cost. Or, since the balance of the work is easy, if you want to complete the interior, no problem. That saves me time and you money. If I take the time to complete the entire truck, fully finished out, I won't sell it for $29k... more like $40k... I have other projects I would like to start, so I'm selling this cheap...
