Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1973 BMW CS or E9. I purchased this car in 2007 with the intent to restore it to it’s hey day. I fell in love with the particular E9 model, often arguably referred to as BMW’s most beautiful car ever built, and it had been my dream to own one. If you are a true fan or been lucky to see one of these beauties drive by, then I don’t need to sell you on specs. They are a head turner whether Concours or concrete. I have been working on and off the restore over the past few years. Soon after buying the listed 1973 BMW CS, I also bought a 1971 CS (parts car) which I am also selling (AUCTION # 281070974186). With a young family and different interests, I’m choosing to move on from this project. Unfortunately, as the cliche goes, my loss will be your gain. I will be offering both cars at a low reserve and priced to sell. The car will be sold as is. There is no interior included with the sale. If you are interested in an interior, please check the sale of my 1971 BMW 2800 CS AUCTION #, which interior was intended for the car you are bidding on. I bought this coupe in 2007 from a family in Marin County, CA. What I thought to be a small project has turned into more of a project that I am willing to move forward with. I started the process of cutting out some of the rust areas around the car. I have detailed the list of things needed to be addressed in the pictures provided. It would be a great project for someone with the drive to finish it. The car does run and has the original key and ignition. The car has Weber carburetors installed on and will also include the original Zeniths. The overall body is straight and complete with trim, bumpers, wheels, lights etc. The gas tank was also treated about four years ago. The car has all windows and exterior trim in good condition. All fluids need to be flushed and changed. Odometer reads 12,347, but I doubt it’s actual miles. Here are the issues: - The rocker panels and overall restoration are more than want I wanted to get into (family). - The rear of the car shows signs of a bondo repair at some point in time. - The spare tire well has rusted (not completely through in some points). - Both front driver and passenger floorboards are rusted. - Rust bubbles in both front fenders, doors and rocker panels. Rust bubbles on the roof near automatic sunroof. - The reverse in the automatic transmission is not functioning. Please see my other AUCTION # 281070974186 for a 5 speed conversion - There is no interior included in the car. Please see my other AUCTION # 281070974186 I will do my best to respond to questions and details. Happy bidding!
