Finished in bright yellow paint with trademark Yenko graphics, its a billboard that says, dont mess with me. With 383 cubic inches under the hood, a nasty lowered stance, and blacked-out wheels that give it a modern twist, this Nova is entirely built for speed. Heck, just the hardware under the hood probably cost as much as were asking for the entire car! With all that horsepower, there was no point in trying to sneak around, so a clean Nova body shell hosts a bright yellow paint job that dares you to give it a go at stoplights. Look at the photos and you can see there are great gaps, because someone took their time getting this one right. For low-profile performance on a budget, Novas are hard to beat, so that means no exotic hoods or wings, just OEM equipment throughout, including the bright front grille, chrome bumpers, and a single side-view mirrorwho needs the weight? The Deuce stripes are reproductions expertly installed so they trace the bodys lines exactly, again drawing your eye to how straight the sheetmetal really is. Correct Nova and Yenko badges have been added where appropriate, as well as 350 badges on the fenders. Black is the only possible choice with that bright yellow bodywork, and the stock bench seat interior offers fresh cloth seat covers and traditional sYc decals on the headrests, which is exactly how Don Yenko did it forty years ago. The cars back-to-basics attitude works well with the column-shifted automatic, while a small-diameter steering wheel gives it a lively feeling on the street. The original gauges remain, keeping an eye on speed and fuel levels, and a Kenwood AM/FM/cassette head unit has been installed in the original dash location. In back, the trunk holds no secrets, with solid sheetmetal and excellent preservation, as well as a matching full-sized spare and jack assembly. The real story lies under the hood, where this Nova packs a 383 cubic inch stroker, complete with Brodix aluminum heads, a massive cam, and an Edelbrock intake. The 383 is a wonderful street engine, with tons of low-end torque and a willingness to spin to 6000 RPM, and might be the ideal engine in a lightweight Nova like this. It takes a big 750 Holley to feed the beast, although its not so radical that power steering and brakes werent on the list. Edelbrock also provided all the aluminum dress-up, giving the engine a cool monochromatic look in the black engine bay. A TH350 channels thrust to a 10-bolt rear, and that lowered stance is simply perfect. The finishing touch are those blacked-out wheels wearing 15-inch radials for a true street brawler look. Someone invested cubic dollars in this build, and it can be yours for pennies on the dollar.
