Check out closed auction item #170959435326 very low mile 1976 sold for $14,300+ OWNER HISTORY: This 1978 CB750A was purchased as "NEW OLD STOCK" on Aug. 1, 1981 at Buena Park Honda in Southern California. The first owner had the dealer install the Vetter "Windjammer" fairing and the Calafia saddle bags as part of the original purchase contract (Orig. cotract included in file.) Inside fairing glovebox is a manufacture date sticker...May 1981. The first owner passed away and on Aug. 29, 1990 my doctor purchased the bike from the widow. Bill of sale of this transaction is also in the file and shows 3084 miles at time of sale. My doctor has owned it the last 23 years and put another 2900 miles on it. The bike has a valid California registration good until AUG. 2013. Doc has gotten a little too old to ride it. He asked me to pick it up and sell it for him. INCLUDED WITH BIKE: -Orig. owner's manual and warranty book....like new -Honda publication "Riding Tips" booklet for new owners. -Both original key cards and bags keys came in. -"Welcome" letter from Honda U.S.A. -Original purchase contract for bike and accessories. -Bill of sale from purchase by 2nd. owner. -Service records. -Both original Honda keys. -Keys to fairing and bags. -Original tool kit and reg. holder under seat -Vintage Bell "Tour Star" helmet...colormatched to fairing COSMETICS: -Bike looks fantastic considering it is 35 years old. Paint shined right up on tank and side covers. NO DENTS. Fairing and saddle bags the same. Fairing wind shield is in incredible condition...no yellowing , minimal scratches and still has original DOT stickers. -The only warning/information stickers missing are from the top of gas tank. All the others are in olace, under seat , on back fender, etc., even the chain wear sticker on the left chain pull. -Chrome is in good shape...Standard header discoloration. Same with clear coated aluminum showing the usual wear and discoloring like most CBs. -The seat had a seam split in it...I had a shop remove the cover and bond it on the back side...and reinstall ccover. Works just fine for riding ...not for a show bike. **************************************************************************************************************************************** While I was cleaning up the bike and giving it the once over I new some issues would have to be looked at before trying to sell a motorcycle that had been sitting for quite some time. The decision of what to do safety wise and service wise was answered by some of the questions I received. When I stated that one tire was dry rotting worse than the other...I was asked if they were ok to ride on?.....or how long they would last? The only way to make sure the new owner smiled on delivery and still have 100% pos. feed back in over 600 transactions was to go over the bike and check, repair or replace as needed. The MECHANICAL section lists what I and a bike mechanic agreed needed to be taken care of. I make no claims the bike is 100% perfect or warranty anything on the bike. Unforseen problems can arise but we did our best to make sure they don't. I ran the auction for 10 days so anyone that wants to come and inspect the bike has more time to do so. You are welcome to bring a mechanic with you but the bike does not leave my garage. I had doc stop the insurance because it is not being ridden. ********************************************************************************************************** MECHANICAL: -Fork seals were done 2 years ago -Battery is a year old -Front and back tires are brand new...0 miles... installed after question requesting a safety check -Brakes are as new...front caliper rebuilt w/ new quad ring, flushed lines, new fluid...Back serviced, adjusted -Changed oil and filter -Serviced & lubed chain -Repaired exhaust leak -Check, clean, adjust gap on points...set 1-4 timing...then 2-3 -Adjust cam chain -Fuel system gone through...Tank checked - no rust -In tank fuel filter and o-ring replaced. -Fuel line to carbs replaced -Carbs taken apart, cleaned, 4 new needles in float bowls -Adjust floats -Clean air filter -Clean and lube throttle caables -Check vacuum and electric idle control valve...replace vac. hose... works properly - Reinstall and set up carbs - Electrical system checked out...installed all new tail light and saddle bage light bulbs for safety...Every other switch, guage light, e-brake warning buzzer, horn, fuel guage (resistance in sender measured), etc. ALL WORK On Feb-23-13 at 15:04:07 PST, seller added the following information: *************************************************************************************************************************************************************** I tried to enter this earlier and could not load it. As this is the first vehicle I have listed I did NOT know to state it is also listed with a shop. So if the shop comes back with a buyer before the close of the auction... I do reserve the right to end the auction early. If it is too close to the end of the 10 day listing the shop will have to send the buyer to the auction. I will not use this as a means to protect the closing bid...afterall it is a no reserve auction. I don't think it will be an issue based on the amount of effort I think they are putting towards a sale. Thank you for bidding, M
