Vehicle Detail
1987 Wolfsburg edition Vanagon "weekender" Westfalia camper NO RESERVE ! Here is a nice looking, great running and riding 1987 Wolfsburg Edition VW pop-top camper. It comes with lots of paperwork from the original owner including the glove box manual, receipts from work done over the years, and more. Very clean, dry VW. Older paint in original color still shines nice. Brand new 3-screen pop-top canvas; working power mirrors and rear wiper (even washer fluid works); excellent tires; clean interior; drivers and passenger seats in great shape w/adjustable arm rests, rear seat and far rear cushion also in great shape; inner sliding window screens; includes front curtain; new rear bumper w/new end caps; new South African front lower grill, and new hubcaps from GoWesty! that look just like the rims they sell. Pop-top just painted in metallic Savannah Beige, looks great; new pop-top seal, luggage seal and center flap seal; Kenwood AM/FM/CD. New dash cover to lighten up the interior. Dash does have some hairline cracks, but not the reason for the cover. Cover just looks nice in these Vanagons. Pop-up table works as it should, bed folds out nice, and top bed is like new under a new canvas and clear skylight. Rear cabinet is also in very nice condition as is interior. Even the rear cup holders are all in tact and open and close as they should. Just serviced including tune-up, brand new belts and oil/filter change. Drives and shifts just like its supposed to, and a pleasure to drive. It's ready for a new owner to enjoy for many years to come. All in all a very nice VW that will make a new owner proud! - Gas gauge not working, sending unit is bad. Cost is $350.00+ tax for a brand new unit, including labor to replace. Happy to have this done only if the winner would like it done. - Small crease/dent in sliding door (see pics). Does not interfere with its operation. A few small dings here and there (see pics).- 4-very small spots of rust were ground down, treated and filled w/POR-15 putty (which won't retain water). See pics.- Missing the small seat that goes behind the drivers seat. * The VW is sold where it is with no warranty offered, implied or given. We encourage you to come take a look at this VW if you're in the Sarasota area. It will be sold here on ebay to the high bidder! We will not stop the auction to sell early, so please don't ask! Please ask lots of questions to ensure this is the VW for you. Our reputation is excellent as a VW repair/restoration shop here in Sarasota for over 20-years. We're very honest, and we have lots of positive reviews on-line at Roadhaus.com and other sites. We're not a car dealer! Feel free to check out our website at sunshineautogarage.com. We only sell a few VW's a year, and this is a real nice one being offered with NO RESERVE! Its hard putting a value on a VW camper these days as the price is going up every single day, so the auction will decide what it this one will cost. Either way, someone will be getting a very nice VW camper. The pics taken by the water were today 2/17/2013 after a nice drive to the beach. The other pics were taken a few days ago at work. In the reflection giving the thumbs-up in this pic! Dent in sliding door shows good in this pic. On Feb-20-13 at 11:31:17 PST, seller added the following information: ** Here are a couple of receipts showing just under $6,000.00 has been spent over the last 10-years showing the engine has been totally gone through within the last 22,000 miles. It runs just like it should with no leaks, noises or idiosyncrasies - as it should. On Feb-25-13 at 08:29:04 PST, seller added the following information: ** Update: 2/25/2013: The headlight adjuster kit just came in from VW and the headlights are straight now. You may (or may not) be able to tell in the photos that they're not quite flush with the grill. They are now adjusted with the new adjusters and straight. No headlight "wobble" from disintegrated adjusters. $135.00 parts and labor, done at no charge of course. You may never have noticed, but we did. Happy bidding! :-)On Feb-26-13 at 06:40:29 PST, seller added the following information: ** UPDATE 2/26/2013: For those that read the complete auction and have made it this far..... Upon checking out this 87' Westy yesterday to ensure it's ready to drive away for the winner, we noticed the CV boots are starting to crack due to age. ALL FOUR CV BOOTS are now being replaced which saves the winning bidder $335+ tax for parts/labor. NO CHARGE for this maintenance repair!
