Vehicle Detail

1969 MGC CONVERTIBLE long term ownership, low original miles. Up for sale is a rare and desirable MGC Convertible, fewer than 500 of these cars were built with the Factory Automatic. It comes in original British Racing Green with Black interiror. In the same ownership since 1984, this car has only had 2 owners, and the mileage, although sold as exempt, is reputed correct by the last owners. The car has been repainted twice, once from the original BRG to red, and then back again to British Racing Green, the paint is of average driver quality, and although it looks good, there are imperfections including minor dents and cracks, and in a couple of areas the intermediate paint is showing. The vehicle itself is very sound, with all it's original body panels, floors and trunk, only the outer sills have been replaced in a workmanlike fashion. There is only one very limited area of the small box section showing signs of rust, and can be easily remedied, see picture, the rest of the car is rock solid, including all suspension pick up points, jacking points, interior floors front and rear as well as the trunk itself. Mechanically the car is sound and runs and drives very well, steering and brakes having also been done. The engine has had a lead free cylinder head installed along with a heated carburator intake, original included in sale, the two brake servo units were replaced, as well as the alternator and regulator. Even so the original twin 6 volt battery set up, would be better served by going to 12Volt. The back axle has been rebuilt, along with new telescopic shock absorbers, new hard brake lines, new handbrake cables and clevis pins, basically the entire rear end has been re-done. The interior is holding up well, with original dash which is crack free, with good working instruments, and a clean interior, the front seats have been recovered using a kit, and the passenger seat still needs some fetling. The windshield has a small chip on the lower passenger side and some wiper arm stratches there as well. All in all this is a great entry level MGC that can be used and enjoyed as is, or taken to the next level. Please look at all the pictures and read the description prior to bidding, I have a great feedback, which I chose to maintain, so please ask all questions, and have all inspections done prior to bidding. A non refundable deposit of $ 1,000- is due via Paypal at close of auction and the balance via wire transfer within 3 days, if you cannot meet these small requirements please do not bid. Furthermore, being the winning bidder, does not give you the right to inspect the car after the auction, nor try to renogociate the price. This is a 10 day auction so it gives you pleanty of time to carry out any inspections. On Feb-13-13 at 05:50:35 PST, seller added the following information: The car comes with a near new black soft top and frame, with spare bows and top frame rail with latches,,I can send pictures of it fitted on the car.Included in the sale are also a complete spare cylinder head with intake manifold, and original valve cover, new cylinder and valve cover gaskets, 2 spare MGC only 15 in wire wheels.Plus 3 large boxes of sundry spares and parts for the car valued at $ 1,500-.
