Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my wife’s 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser. Before my wife started driving it belonged to her parents. Her dad took excellent care of it. My wife is in the Air Force and we are based here in Del Rio at Laughlin Air Force Base. We bought the car from her parents planning on getting a boat here in TX. Well we have decided to buy a house instead and don’t really need the extra car. Her parents bought it from a good friend of theirs who is a car fanatic. He kept it in a huge climate controlled warehouse. I took the car to Carmax in Austin and they offered us $3,600 for it the week before last. The Land Cruiser drives great and is a tank! It has new brakes on all 4 wheels and the oil is always changed religiously every 3,000 miles. It has only every has full synthetic oil run in it and I can assure you the 4.5 liter 6 cylinder is in top condition. The transmission fluid has been changed every 60,000 miles along with the transfer case and differential fluids. The tires are in average condition with a lot of good miles left on them. The interior is about a 6.5 out of 10. The drivers seat has seen better days but you can get full leather seat recover kits for the front and bench seat on www.Ih8mud.com land cruiser forum for $600. I was planning on doing it but never got around to it. The paint is not perfect and the fender flares have a couple scrapes on them. There are a couple small dents on the front fenders. The power antenna does not work but it has satellite radio in it and that is all we listen to. This is a great first car for any teen as it is heavy and slow. These are some of the safest cars you can buy! If you have any questions or would like to see the car in person please don’t hesitate to reach out. 830-469-3282. It does have a slight oil drip from the oil pan. Also the intake hose from the air filter has cracked. I used duct tape to patch it. A new hose from Toyota is $87 Please watch video of test drive: http://youtu.be/Kaj3RbT9XlQ Please watch video of vehicle walk around: http://youtu.be/CeB9ZKPtwBg Please watch video of undercarriage: http://youtu.be/D3wF21Rz_2I On Feb-11-13 at 06:54:09 PST, seller added the following information: People have asked about the accident reported on Autocheck... That was the tree branch falling on the front of the car. My in-laws claimed it on insurance and never got the dents fixed. You can see in the video walk around that they are rather minor. Also the box with wood cut outs in the pictures is a wood kit that comes with the car. I know some people like the wood and some dont. Also you can drive this car anywhere! If you are planning on flying to pick up the vehicle San Antonio is the closest major airport. Del Rio airport has 2 flights a day on United but they are usually expensive. There is a Hertz car rental in Del Rio and you can get one way rentals from San Antonio or Austin for around $100. Austin is a 4 hour drive and San Antonio is a just under 3 hour drive.
