Vehicle Detail
For auction is my 1966 Triumph Spitfire. Clear CA title in my name- 60K mile original. I have owned this car for some time and bought it from a local private seller who donated it to charity (Cars For Causes) . He was the original owner and the car had its original 1966 black plate, but it had to be surrendered as there was no front plate. It has been registered regularly and is currently registered now, although on a non-op. My chore was to begin to work on it and restore it to a nice driver, I just have not had the time to get to it. There is no visible rust anywhere on the car, only the battery box has some corrosion that could be patched (it currently has has the plastic insert in it to hold the battery which is new. The motor is very clean and has electronic ignition, and I recently spent $1500 getting bushings, brakes and motor & carbs running well by local Triumph expert Joe Siam. Unfortunately a small fuel leak prevented me from driving it, so I purchased a light aluminum replacement gas tank (included in the auction), a carpet kit (also included) ....but I have no time to get to the car. Not sure if the original tank was leaking or if it is just the junction line, but it was minor. I drained the tank and just never got around to fixing it. The Triumph also comes with convertible top frame and original tonneau, but no convertible top. For a few bucks you can get the tank installed, seats and top done and drive this as a true original. It is coded as an original British Racing Green car with black interior. The paint looks original to me but I can't be sure. There are dings all over and several scratches from being stored in my garage, but it is still presentable to drive. The mechanical side is really strong. The car runs and drives, but needs seats, installation of gas tank and carpeting and top to make it complete. Good luck and happy bidding.
