Vehicle Detail
This is a 1965 Chevy Shorty Step Van (Food Truck Style) that we started restoration on to use it for an event. Has what we believe to be the original straight 6 with a 4 speed manual transmission with the original miles. Vehicle runs and drives. It is currently not registered. Mechanically it should be gone through just to make sure everything is going perfect. I would also suggest putting an aftermarket temperature gauge on it. The vehicle has no rust. We cut out a small section of the rear floor and replaced it. It started as a carpet cleaner van and probably the machines leaked water on the floor and caused it so we cut it right out. We did some nice diamond plate work on the interior and did a custom chain shifter. Our original plan was to turn it into the ice cream truck from KILLER KLOWNS FROM OUTER SPACE since it is the exact same body style. We also plasma cut a hole in the side for it to be an ice cream truck. One would have to finish it with a door to make it usable. The paint we used was a single stage high quality gloss white which is a plenty good base in order to finish the minor dents and dings in order to perfect it. The front glass is good, and it needs back glass installed in the rear doors. The glass on the side doors is missing on the drivers side door and the other side door has a crack in the glass. The good thing about this glass is that it is Flat glass and very inexpensive to replace. The seat was re-upholstered in black vinyl. The clutch feels great. The engine is really just an overall champion and has no problem starting. The gas tank is a portable tank currently located inside the vehicle. The reason for this was we could easily empty the gas tank if the gas had been sitting for any length of time. It would need minor body work to complete the project as well as misc small parts here and there. (It wouldn't need panels fabricated and welded in; I am not talking bodywork like that. I am talking Dents and dings) Right now the truck seems to be extremely low geared and I wouldn’t suggest any freeway use at all. (Not to mention it is only a 4 speed) Like I mentioned this is a project, but this isn't a project that is going to cost a fortune to complete. It’s not a rust bucket, it runs, it even looks good as-is, and it is a highly desirable size of van. Can this van make it on a 300 mile trip to California; I would NEVER suggest that, even if it was perfect. Someone that purchases this will need to have it transported. It will have no problem driving right up onto the carrier. This vehicle would make an amazing old school ice cream truck. This would be a great truck to drive around town and generate revenue. This is the same body vehicle as "The Killer Klowns from Outer Space". Please understand that this vehicle is still a work in progress and NOT a show car. Viewing can take place by appointment only. Serious buyers with immediate funds available only. Vehicle has a clear Nevada Title. This vehicle is being sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed or implied. I have done the best of my ability to describe the vehicle. Anyone is more than welcome to schedule an appt and see the vehicle prior to bidding. The buyer is responsible for a $500 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours of the end of auction. If someone puts the extra time and energy to finish this project they could have one of the most unique vending (Food Truck) vehicles in town. The reserve is SUPER low and when this is finished it would sell for a fortune! NOTE: The photos in the gallery with the yellow grill and and a Clown on top are NOT the vehicle for sale. We put them up there as a reference to show you how close this vehicle looks to the one in the movie.
