The torque band is muscular and the motor is surpisingly smooth. As a result it is quite easy to set up a quick pace in the mountains. Besides the much lower weight and engine changes, the transmission now incorporates sleeves and rollers rather than the conventional forks for gear selection. The result is a smoother and quieter transmission. This is all courtesy of F1 enginnering and the transmission is a huge upgrade for Bmw. History I am the 2nd owner and have put on 1500 miles in the 18 months I've owned the bike. I changed the oil and filter three months ago and checked the valves. I also installed a new battery. Original owner's service receipts are included.
