Early 1600 version of the 2002 model. Southern California car. Purchased from the original owner in 2001 and has been my wife's car since. Her daily driver until 2005; storage and light use since. Very nice Factory stock and original example that is in need of some cosmetics. No rust or accident damage. Has rare dealer installed Air Conditioning (currently off car but included). Runs very well, engine rebuilt by first owner. Runs cool, no oil leaks. Transmission shifts well. Has been a very reliable, trouble free car for us. Recent service includes new brakes. Tires newer with little use. Paint is showing age. Please continue reading for specific needs.... MECHANICAL: Runs and drives well. Gets 28 Miles per gallon highway driving. Just serviced in November. Dealer installed Air Conditioning was removed years ago at engine rebuild. All components I have come with car. True milage unknown as odometer was inop for a long period, currently working now. Gas gage reads inaccurate when below half. INTERIOR: Original and correct. Excellent carpet and nice original headliner. Front drivers seat has a few small tears. Plastic "chrome" trim on door panels have areas that are peeling off (very common) Dash has several small cracks from sun damage. Overall the inside shows well for age of car. EXTERIOR: One quality repaint in Factory blue in the 90's that has now aged and is faded. Needs complete paint to improve or use as is. Unfortunately I stored outside for a 3 year stretch and has suffered sun damage. Other than that it was stored inside my warehouse when not in use. As mentioned no rust or accident history. Exceptional nice chrome and stainless trim. Spare tire well, under tire area only has some light service corrosion but is solid....see photo. (common for this model) Rare to find in Factory original condition. I have been a collector and small full time Classic Car Dealer since 1987 in San Diego ( Oldtownclassics ). I bought this car, the best original I could find at the time for my wife in 2001. After 12 years of enjoyment, with a good portion of that time in storage she has moved on to something else.
