Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a gorgeous IH. As you can see from the pictures this is a very nice and well taken care of 3/4 ton pick up truck. It was sold new in Sioux Falls SD and spent most of its life there with a large camper in its bed. It then went to the 2nd owner in North Dakota. He had it repainted in a factory IH color; Apache Gold base coat clear coat and black spray in bed liner nicely done approximately 3 years ago. Paint job is not car show perfect, but it is very nice. Looks good in farm shows, parades, or just to drive and enjoy on those beautiful leisure days to reminisce back to a simpler time. The truck was almost completely rust free except for a small repair which was done on the lower left front fender and a small patch repair on the right floor board. All this was done before the re-paint job. The truck is very original with 120,000 actual miles. It starts, runs, and drives very well. It was actually driven from Northern North Dakota to me in Southern Wyoming. That was a 12 hour drive with no problems. It gets decent fuel mileage on the highway, (approximately 12-14 mpg). It has had a recent carb rebuild. It has a new fuel filler neck hose and vent hose on the left tank. It has a new fuel pump, fan belt, carrier bearing on the drive shaft, new exhaust manifold gaskets, new oil in the rear end, transmission, and engine. Also has new coolant in the radiator. Grease fittings have been greased. Oh and it also has a new radio antenna (yes the AM radio does work). The tires are approximately 3 years old with about 70% tread left. It has new factory type carpet in the cab. It has a new front windshield and windshield gasket. The dash is extremely nice and it is the custom cab version with all the woodgrain. Looks like new. The seat is original and does have some seams coming apart on the driver's side. It has tape on it to stop further damage. Actually, when I sit in the truck, it seems to me almost like I've stepped back in time to the year 1967 and I'm at an IH dealer showroom. In other words, this truck is quite NICE especially for its age and being mostly original. The truck has a 304 V-8 engine, 4-speed manual transmission with 4:10 gears in the rear differential. It does have factory left and right fuel tanks that you can switch back and forth. These work great, only problem is that the left tank fuel gauge doesn't work. It is probably a bad sending unit. All the other gauges work well. To sum it up: This truck starts, runs, drives, steers, shifts and brakes quite well. The only small issue is when the engine is cold, the hydraulic clutch release doesn't work quite right as the clutch starts engaging with the pedal close to the floor. BUT when warmed up, this isn't a problem at all. I'm not sure if it just needs adjusting, or if it might have air in the system. Just remember, this is a 46 year old 3/4 ton truck, so it isn't a modern day luxury vehicle. It is just a rare cool old IH in exceptional condition. It comes with the original operator's manual and line setting ticket. I do have some contacts for shipping and will assist in anyway I can with them. If you aren't able to pick up immediately, I can store the truck inside my garage for a little while (with prior arrangements). I can email more pics if needed. If you have any question feel free to call Jon at (361) 960-1650 or send an email. I do reserve the right to end this auction early since I do have the truck for sale locally. If you have zero ebay transactions, please contact me before bidding or your bid may be rejected. Thanks for looking and bid with confidence. On Feb-05-13 at 10:56:38 PST, seller added the following information: Added 1/4/13 - The previous high bidder retracted his bid and chose the explanation "Seller changed the description of the item." This is NOT correct. There have been no description changes to our item. Sorry for any confusion this may have caused. Again....bid with confidence, but we do ask, please do not bid if you are not serious. Thank you.
