Vehicle Detail

Up for No reserve Auction is a 1975 Volkswagen beetle. previous high bidder that won the auction decided morning after that they did not read the auction. READ THE LISTING BEFORE YOU BID!!! Paint and Body: There is only very little rust anywhere on the car Except the driver's rear pan which my mechanic says has a small hole in it and that he wasn't worried about it. He also told me to replace the running boards on the car and I ordered a pair and when they came they were so flimsy I sent them back. I have not personally looked at the underside of the running boards but they look fine from the topside and they do not seem in bad shape to me. The car has been repainted and the paint is not perfect but when the car is clean it really looks nice. I have never done anything to the paint but if someone buffed it out I'll bet she would really look nice. The undersides of the doors have rust. There is a small rust spot on the body behind the driver's side rear quarter window where paint is missing but it is just surface rust. The car has no bumpers installed just small square holes where the bumpers were that are seen in the pictures. I intended on adding vents there like the older bugs to cover the holes up. The car comes with these old bumpers that we did not like and had to cut off the frame(they were spot welded on). They were home made push pumpers that were well made but not what we wanted. The car does come with 4 brand new T-bars that we never got around to installing. Suspension: I replaced all the shocks when I got the car with mid to high quality shocks. They have less than a few hundred miles on them. Wheels and Tires: Have less than 200 miles on them and look great! Empi 1 piece 15” alloys with Nankang 165-80r15s. Electrical: Car runs fine unless it is raining. The electrical is not this cars high point. I know nothing about electrical and it looks like the person who did the electrical before I bought the car knew less. There is big mess of electrical cords under the hood that I zip tied together to get them out of the way. Everything electrical is working but not when the car gets wet. The car may need a new windshield wiper motor as the wipers work when they want to. All lights work, horn works, the radio is after market and it works but it currently has no speakers. The last owner put the speakers right where you need space to role down the windows so either the speakers went or we couldn't use the windows. I will give you the speakers with the car and there are still holes in the door panel for the speakers. All the window levers and mechanicals have been replaced as after I took the speakers out I realized the windows still didn't work. Now they work great. DIGITAL ELECTRONIC IGNITION SYSTEM THAT IS JUST ABOUT BRAND NEW WITH NEW WORKING TACH AND NEW WIRES. Compufire system has less than 200 miles on it. I have a bunch of extra new NKG spark plugs as well. Car has two batteries installed underneath the back seat. A part in the ignition switch on the column was giving us issues and when I called a Volkswagen professional they said I most likely needed to replace the entire steering column so we got rid of key start and put in a switch and a button that is just hanging near the steering wheel. The switch is for the fuel pump and the button is for the starter. We did this right before the car stopped running so I never got a chance to mount the button or switch properly. The key still needs to be in the car to drive because of the steering wheel lock. The same key operates the car as the key that operates the door locks. Brakes: I have never done anything with the brakes but I think they work great. The car stops on a dime. The emergency break is not attached at the drum so that does not work. Fuel system: New 34 double Webber carburetors have less than 200 miles on them. They really made this car exciting. The fuel lines are all new and they run through the car on the interior through conduit that has been painted black see picture. The original fuel lines were rotten and I ran 3/8 black rubber fuel line to replace it. It has a new glass fuel filter before the splitter that goes to the carburetors. Engine: When I bought the car it had a carburetor and my mechanic told me that the reason the car wasn't running was because the carburetor needed to be rebuilt. I sold the carberator on ebay and bought the 34 Webber's they are pumper carburetors (that made my mechanic excited). I did not do much to the engine as the car is only less than a year old to me and it was running fine after I installed the double Webber's. The reason why it is not running is after we switched to the DIS system my mechanic told me I needed a bigger spark plug gap. The drivers side cylinder that is towards the back of the engine we discovered was Helli-coiled and not very well. The car has not been running since (it has been stored in my garage since spring). The car is going to need a pair of new heads to run again but the car did run great before we had this problem. The car has an after market exhaust that sounds great but the holes where the old exhaust exited the body are still there. The car is a four speed on the floor with a scat shifter with a reverse lock that I have learned to love. The car also has an EMPI after market oil pan that I installed that also has the built in oil filter. It keeps the engine running a lot cooler than it was before. The car has no thermostat but she feels sluggish when she gets hot. Ever since I got the after marker pan she has not had any cooling issues. All in all the new parts that I have added to this car along with the sound body and brake system make this car a very easy project. It was a lot of fun and my girlfriend and I are both very sad to see it go. $500 paypal payment due within 48 hours of auction close. Pick up and bring cashiers check or cash.
