Vehicle Detail
This is a spectacular example of a BMW classic with tasteful upgrades. Finished in brilliant INKA Orange. This is a garage kept, very well taken care of car that has recently received a significant amount of work. The 2002 was the car that put BMW on the map and this one is ready for you to enjoy for years to come- You will not be disappointed. The wheel flairs and the front spoiler are molded into the body for a clean look. The wheel flairs are perfectly symmetrical. The paint shines and reflects deep (as you can see in the photos). Clean, rust-free shock towers (see pic) Door handles have been removed and replaced with remote door openers (both sides). This contributes to the clean look of the body. These work very well and both doors close solidly. Very nice. The car sits low over the larger-than-stock wheels and upgraded suspension. It has a terrific stance and turns heads, regularly getting attention from passers by All lights and turn signals work perfectly Euro front turn signals installed Euro rear bumper Upgraded headlights with BMW "Angel Eyes" for daytime driving lights. New window seals were installed with the recent paint job. New bucket rear seat from a BMW 635 reupholstered in perforated leather to perfectly match the front Recaro seats. The rear buckets also include the retractable center armrest. Brand new and very comfortable. A perfect fit. Recaro BMW front seats upgraded with perforated leather New headliner. (Note: The flash on my camera does odd things and it made the headliner look far more checkered than it does in person. It is more muted and really looks like a dark grey until you get it in the light when the pattern is seen. It is in perfect condition and looks great.) New upholstered door panels and rear side panels. These are finished to have the matching look of the perforated leather seats. Sunroof works perfectly Tilt side front window vents and rear tilt-out windows work perfectly New tires BMW Borbet type "C" wheels with BMW center caps New cross drilled & vented front brake conversion New front adjustable coil overs Dual Weber 40 Carbs DCOE (Italian) Braided stainless lines New valve cover Battery moved to trunk and is mounted in a stable frame The engine was inspected during the build and was determined to be in good shape and didn't need gone through. Top end was refurbished with new seals. Engine runs perfectly, does not smoke and there are no leaks! The other: The tach doesn't work but this is a simple fix that most shops will be able to easily do for you. Passenger Recaro is missing one of the little side levers. There is a little rubber end knob missing from the heater fan - easy to find. That's it. This is a great car that will make the next owner very happy. Keep in mind that this is a classic car so it will have its little squeaks here and there and minor imperfections here and there. Typical minor stuff for any classic car but I'm sure you're already aware of that. Clean title in hand. Be confident in this car. I would drive it long distance without hesitation - it is a great driver and could be used as your daily driver - no question. The car is located near San Diego and is being sold as-is where-is with no warranty implied or otherwise. Please ask as many questions as possible before bidding. Buyer is responsible for shipping costs unless it is being picked up locally. I can help you locate a company to deliver the car but the shipping cost is the buyer's responsibility. Bid with confidence. 100% positive feedback after years of being on Ebay. Enjoy and thanks for looking! On Jan-25-13 at 20:05:10 PST, seller added the following information: Additional details about the work that has been done to the car: Transmission was recently gone through and it is solid New clutch installed LSD - Has a limited-slip differential If you have any questions please send them my way. Thanks. On Jan-28-13 at 18:29:32 PST, seller added the following information: Note: I started the car for the first time in 10 days today to run through the gears and there was some smoke. I want to tell everyone this to give you full disclosure of the condition of the car and any and all of my observations. This only happened after sitting for a while so it could be a number of things. I talked to the mechanic that did the work on the car and he didn't think it was an issue. He thought that the carbs might need adjusted. It ran clean two weeks ago so I can only guess that it's because it was sitting for a while but I don't know. If you have any questions I'm happy to answer them. Thanks for looking.
