Vehicle Detail
1977 Mercedes SEL 6.9. Fully loaded with automatic transmission, sunroof, power windows/ locks etc. This is a great car and one of the rarest Benz's ever produce with just over 7000 made. It was the fastest sedan produced at the time with a 0 to 60 time of 7 seconds and a top speed of 140mph, these are amazing cars. This example is a true survivor. The body is very solid with very little rust, the interior shows very nicely for its age. It runs and drives well, plenty of power and the engine runs smoothly. This car is in good shape for its age but please keep in mind it is a 36 year old car. This car has very little rust and underwent a very high quality restoration years ago. The paint shines nicely and the leather is in nice shape for its age. The tires are in great shape and the engine runs smoothly and starts without any issues, no smoke, runs nice and cool etc. I have been driving it regularly for the past few weeks and am amazed at how much power it has. This is a very solid car and a true collectors item.It does have a few rust spots at the bottom of the wheel arches and around the suroof, however the car shows nicely and these spots aren't noticeable in passing. The leather on the drivers seat is in good shape however the seat bottom does sink when you sit in it (springs are week). The passenger seat is very nice, the rear seat does have some wear. All door panels are very nice as well as the headliner. The wood on the dash is in good shape, the dash itself shows nicely but does have a few cracks. There is an issue with the heater controls, it switches from dash vents to defrost etc with out any issues but it doesn't blow warm air, only cold. The car drives nicely down the road however there is a clunk coming from the front right side when going over bumps. Another noteworthy problem is that when the car sits for a few airs the suspension does not remain at ride height, it lowers itself, however once the car is started it does raise itself quickly without a problem. I would also recommended a tuneup, oil change etc because the car hasn't been driven much for awhile. This is a nice car for its age but do keep in mind that it is a 36 year old car and does need some TLC. On Jan-21-13 at 19:50:39 PST, seller added the following information: The odometer does not work, it shows 283k on it. The car looks and feels like it has much less. On Jan-21-13 at 19:57:48 PST, seller added the following information: This car also has the rare euro headlight conversion and they are in great shape. It comes with the original first aid kit from Mercedes as well. The sunroof operates nice and smoothly as well as all of the windows with the exception of the passenger side front (it doesn't go down, maybe a faulty switch?). This car is a real gem and gets lots of attention, with a bit of attention it could easily be a show car.
