Vehicle Detail
This car is a stalled restoration project, Even though it ran fine when I bought it in 1999, I foolishly decided to take it completely apart to "restore it like new." I am really good at taking things apart and the restoration never happened. The best feature of this car is that it was a California car all its life and the body is absolutely in perfect condition. There was a rubber plug in the floor under the passenger seat of this car that gathered standing water around it and caused it to rust (see pictures). This is the only evidence of rust anywhere on the car. I have purchased many new parts for this car over the years and they all go with the car. Some items, like Koni shocks, Centerline perfomance springs, and other suspension components are installed on the car. Some of the new parts like engine parts are still in boxes. I have over $3300 worth of receipts from International Auto Parts and Centerline Products for new items bought for this project. The gearbox was professionally rebuilt by Ammco Transmisions using $732 worth of new parts from Centerline. Email me if you want to see any of the receipts. This car has a California salvage title. The person I bought the car from told me that the salvage title was a result of the car having been stolen. I do not know if this story is true, but I do know, by the condition of this car that is was not wrecked. This car still has the Spica Fuel injection system. The engine is completely apart. The bumpers have been discarded. The paint is faded. It is not 100% complete, but most of the car is still here. The car can be a restoration project, or perhaps a great source of parts for someone that needs them. In any case, my wife would love to see this car gone! I have over $6000 invested in this project, and I know I cannot get anywhere near that much back out. I just want it to go to someone that can use it, or parts of it. If you buy this car you will need to bring a trailer when you pick it up. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. Jim
