PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE PLACING BIDS OR ASKING QUESTIONS TO AVOID ANY CONFUSION.HEY THANX...MOTOGROTTO...THE VINTAGE CAFE AND BMW BOXER AIRHEAD RESTORATION STATION 1950-1995SPECIALIZING IN PEACE OF MIND AND PURE MOTORCYCLING SATISFACTION 610-749-0747 EASTON PA 18040. ATTENTION:SALVAGE TITLE This bike is a 1980 R100RT with a salvage title.It blew over parked in the wind a couple of years ago and busted up the fairing which was deemed more to repair than the bike was worth therefore the insurance company issued a salvage title.It was not crashed or wrecked.It was not in Hurricane Sandy or Katrina nor was it ravaged by any other storms.It was just repainted before the mishap.Once the fairing was removed the bike was basically a sound solid running machine.This bike has a very low reserve and is being sold for much less than the same machine would be with a regular title so here is your chance to save a bunch of money and still get a quality BMW that will give you miles of smiles.You will need to take the bike to a re inspection station that will do what is called an enhanced inspection which makes sure the vehicle is safe and properly repaired.Locally in Doylestown Pa there is a shop that charges $110 for this service and once passed can be registered insured and put on the road.You will have to check with your state as to fees and requirements as this needs to be done in your state.If you prefer me to do it in Pa prior to your transfer I would be happy to take care of it for you for the $110 plus the DMV fees (probably around $150) at which point a reconstructed title would be issued which should be ready to transfer to any state.Please note this will take a couple of weeks for DMV to process the paperwork but you should be ready in plenty of time for spring.I have ridden the bike and everything works properly lights turn signals horn charging system etc.This is a really nice bike. Ready to be made into your custom cafe or ride as is.Matching numbers,good tires and brakes.New sealed battery and starter relay.Stainless brake lines. The seat top is in great shape.The underneath has some rust and a repaired hinge but is solid.The paint is very nice but not perfect.Some small scuffs on one battery sidecover,valve covers and a small ding on the front of the tank by the seat. I am a semi retired machinist and have been restoring and collecting BMW motorcycles for over 30 years 1950-1995.MOTOGROTTO is the BMW boxer airhead restoration station.This ain't Barrett-Jackson push the button... A nice set of Mac mufflers.40 mm Bing carbs 70HP model 1000cc. Custom machined ball joint shifter linkage replacing the original BMW"Paper Clip" self-destruct assembly famous for letting loose and leaving many stranded.The shifter pivot has been machined with a bushing for smoother shifts.Trans works fine.
