1973 Mercury Comet. Engine is 302 V8 with automatic transmission. This is a very clean, low mileage vehicle, with 64.943 ORIGINAL miles. Vehicle body is ultra clean and straight with no accidents or body work . Still has the original paint and perfect vinyl roof. Always garaged kept. This Comet is original from top to bottom and still has the factory paint daub's and stencils. The engine compartment is original with all the original components except for replacement wear items, such as; belts, hoses, battery, air filter. The interior is like new with seats and carpet that are original. Also has the original floor mats that are in good condition. There is a split in the dash due to sun damage, as the car has been in Southern California, Arizona and Nevada it's entire life. There is also a small 1 inch tear in the rear headliner aboout the rear passengers seat area. (See Picture). The car has had all elderly owner's and has not been abused. Previous owner's have kept repair records and receipts totalling over $5.000 over the past years for work done by professional mechanics. All electrical works including the AM radio. Air conditioning works, blows cold and has been converted to R134. The rear tail lite lense is not original, they are different years, Driver's side one is a 1970 replacement and one is a 1973 that is original. Original rims and hubcaps which are 14". Tires are 90% tread and in good shape. All warning lites, buzzers work including the fasten seat belt buzzer. Exhaust has been replaced with a new Thrush single exhaust factory system from front to back, (SEE PICS) This car needs nothing. Total turn-key and drive or show. Engine runs smooth. Transmission shifts smoothly and drives down the road straight. Brakes are almost new, they are manual drum brakes. This is an All original 1973 Mercury Comet. There is one minor parking lot door ding on the pasenger side door, but the paint is not broken or scratched. There is also two raised minor dings on the trunk lid, that looks as though someone tryed to shut the trunk with something large in it. There is also a visible belt buckle scratch on the driver's side front fender. There is also a spot on the passenger's side rear near the bum[per in 2 places that are about 2 inches long that someone tryed to cover with touchup paint that did not match the original paint exactly. (Surface paint scratches). Please remember this is a 40 year old original car. The bottom of the front drivers seat also has a tear in it that is not visible, but you can see it when you fliip the driver's seat up to get into the back seat. (SEE PICTURE). The car could use a buffing on the paint. All glass is good with no cracks or knicks, the windshield does have a streak on it from the windshiled wipers and could use a buffing with a glass cleaner, to get rid of the streak. The radiator shrowd has been repaired as seen in picture.
