This was one of the most unique Dodge trucks ever produced. The Lil' Red Express was not only a real looker but these trucks were also real performers! In 1978 the Dodge Lil' Red Express was the fastest American made vehicle from 0 to 100 MPH as tested by Car & Driver magazine ! This is a 44,169 original miles, RUST FREE, garage kept, turn key & drive survivor in absolutely beautiful condition that is ready to enjoy immediately ! Please take the time to review the 24 photos that I have here. I have taken a total of 80 photos of this truck and will be happy to send any additional photos that any potential buyer would request to have. I have annual inspection receipts in my possession and the inspection stickers on the truck to verify the actual mileage. I also have a clean PA title in hand for this truck. The mileage is listed as exempt on the title as many older vehicles were years ago. That is why I have all the receipts showing mileage for verification. I also have complete documentation for this truck. First is the original factory BUILD SHEET which is still in the seat springs behind the seat where it has been since the truck was built ! The build sheet is clear and intact. I also have the original shipping order from Chrysler Corporation in Warren, Michigan showing all options on the truck. I also have the original factory yellow envelope containing the trace and pay computer punch cards. I also have the original owners manual, stereo instruction manual and tire inflation pressure manual. Under the hood every sticker is there, including the underhood build sheet in its original plastic holder. The jack usage sticker is there, fender well sticker, radiator support sticker, and valve cover sticker is all in place. Please check out the photos to verify this. This truck is equipped with the original special engine code EH1 High Performance 360 Express 225 Horsepower V8 engine. The original correct air cleaner with dual snorkels and original chrome lid with original 360 EXPRESS sticker is there. The original chrome valve covers are also there. Even the original Chrysler 4-Barrel Thermoquad carburetor sits atop the engine and works fine ! The engine was just serviced and tuned with new spark plugs, engine oil & filter, gas filter, air filter, and PCV valve. Also the fuel tank sending unit is brand new and just replaced. The thermostat is new as well as all coolant hoses, along with fresh antifreeze. The alternator on the engine is new. Original jack and handles reside under the hood as well. The engine is backed with the original special 727 automatic transmission, and original 3.55:1 geared chrysler 9-1/4 rearend. The truck fires right up and runs fantastic ! It runs, shifts, stops and drives exactly as it should. This truck is nicely optioned with power steering & power brakes, AM/FM stereo radio, optional Tuff steering wheel, and deluxe vinyl bench seat. The original chrome "astro style" 15" X 8" wheels are in beautiful condition with like new Goodyear Eagle GTII 275/60-15 tires. The original matching full size spare tire with original chrome wheel still resides under the bed in factory spare holder. This truck appears to be mostly original with a few upgrades including restoration of the pickup bed with new Cherry wood and chrome strips and hardware, and repainted inside bed sides. Exhaust is recent including the correct pipes from manifold back including proper crossover pipe. The original "turbo" style mufflers were replaced with glass pack mufflers for a nice powerful sound. The chrome stacks are in beautiful original condition as well as the chrome plates at the bottom of the stacks. The exhaust is of the 1978 style with no catalytic converters. The paint is the correct Canyon Red color. The paint shows some wear on the front edge of the hood. There is a small dent on the top of the hood on the driver's side. There is also some paint wear on the front and back edges of the rear stepside fenders. A few chips here and there. There is evidence of a dealer sticker removal above the gas filler and there is a small rectangular paint blemish there. All the trim is clean and shiny. The grille is clean and intact. The chrome front and rear bumpers are in excellent shiny original condition. All the lighting works exactly as it should. All the glass is exceptionally clean and all original Chrysler glass. The original black vinyl seat shows some wear with a couple cracks on the drivers side seamed edge of the seat. This is on the lower side of the seat where you get in the truck. The seating surface and back is in amazing overall condition ! The drivers side door panel shows a little wear above the armrest where you would have your arm rubbing against the door panel when rested on the armrest. There is one small hole on the lower driver's side section of the dash where a toggle switch had been and a CB radio microphone holder is mounted to the middle of the lower dash. The carpet is original and has no rips or tears and is also in amazing original very clean condition. The floors are completely solid as well as as cab corners. Again this is a RUST FREE TRUCK ! This truck received a "Rusty Jones" rustproofing treatment very early in it's life. As can be seen in the pictures the white vinyl plugs are in the lower rockers in the door jambs. Further evidence of this is seen on the outer edges of the inner fender wells with the spray treatment showing. Nothing on this truck has been "dolled up" with any spray paint or spray undercoating. The underside photos show the original condition and solid integrity of this truck. A true car person realizes how hard it is to find a rust free, low mileage survivor, so this is truly a very rare opportunity to own an original classic. Only 5118 of these trucks were originally made in 1979 and who knows how many of those are left. And how many of those are anywhere near this amazing condition with this low mileage. This truck is the definition of a true survivor ! It presents very well and would be a hit at any cruise or car show. If you are a Dodge dealer this truck would make a great showroom addition sitting next to one of the proposed 2014 versions of the Lil' Red. Since this is a commercial vehicle it also has certain tax advantages as advertising. Check with your accountant on that.
