Vehicle Detail
Check out this ONE OF A KIND 1978 El Camino. The body has been custom fabricated to carry the same lines as the Monte Carlo of its time. The front clip, all of the quarter panels, the doors, even the seats are from a Monte Carlo. This is not something Chevy ever produced from the factory so it is a very unique vehicle. You won’t find another vehicle like this anywhere! If you look at the VIN for this car it originally came with the 305 motor. It now has the 350 with a quadrajet carburetor, edlebrock performer intake manifold, and an edlebrock air cleaner. The car has a 700R4 transmission that recently was rebuilt with a new pump and seals. A Cherry Bomb Turbo Muffler gives this car a great sound. The seats were given new foam and re-upholstered with white and black fabric about a year ago. 17" American racing rims with brand new tires (Approximately 20 miles on them) The good: This is a very unique, custom car that has had tons of work done to it but could still be used for normal driving Runs well and has a great transmission Custom interior is clean and comfortable Great body and paint No Rust No one has smoked in the car/Smells great Clean title in my name The bad: The headliner is missing There is no radio installed The dash has a few cracks The exterior trim pieces have a few dings A few interior trim pieces are cracked The drop curtain behind the seats is missing A few of the gauges do not work, there is a new working oil pressure gauge in the engine compartment that was never run inside the car. The speedometer and fuel gauge both work This is the first time I have sold a vehicle on Ebay. I have had my dealers license and been buying and selling cars locally for a few years but I feel like this is a car that needs to been seen by more than just the local crowd. I came across this car at an auction a few years ago and bought it with the intention of restoring it. All of the body work was already done and the engine had been swapped at that time. I took what was there and made it look much better but I was not able to do a full restoration. I have spent many hours with this car and I know whoever owned it previously was the same way. Unfortunately because of this I do not have the records of the body work, or the engine swap. The transmission was installed in March and the vehicle has been sitting most of the time since then due to me being out of state. This car is not perfect. It does have a ton of work done to it and it seems to have been done right. This is a great looking vehicle that you could jump in and take to town, or with a little more work it could become a great show car. Everyone who sees it thinks it is great and when people who know El Caminos see it they are always very interested and very curious to know everything that was done. Observers can’t stop talking about how amazing the car is with the sleek lines of a Monte Carlo. A 500$ deposit will be required within 48 hours of the auction close and the buyer is responsible for all transportation of the car. I have tried to explain everything about the car and all the work that still needs done. With that in mind please ask if you have any more questions of if you want any other pictures. I would be happy to send them and answer any questions to the best of my ability.
