Vehicle Detail

This 1955 F100 was built approximatley 25+/- years ago. The running gear for this build was removed from a 1977 Cadillac DeVille. This includes the 425 engine, turbo 400 Transmission (recently rebuilt), rear end, front spindles and power disc brakes. The front clip is from a 1973 ElCamino, and the rear clip is from an early S10 pickup (old school). Many custom touches are found thruout this truck. Reverse opening hood. Door handles removed and replaced with flush minivan handles. Tilt column. Tailgate molded into the box with a rolled rear pan (No the tailgate does not open). Widened rear fenders (3 inch wider than stock, glass fenders). Dash split and widened for custom look and gages. And more... The truck is currently titled, liscensed, insured, and driven whenever I want. The Good; Runs and drives just fine. This truck handles great since the 425 Caddy sits down low in the ElCamino clip and back further than most. Rear cab corners replaced years ago and in great shape. The truck is VERY SOLID with no panels found in need of repacement. Brand new Aluminum radiator (the original Caddy unit started leaking). Brand new Edelbrock 1406 600cfm carb (stock Caddy spreadbore was shot). All gages, wiring, wipers, speedometer and lights work. The Bad; Truck is showing it's age. This could be described as a 20 footer. The pictures look good, and the truck looks great on the road and decent at shows but needs to be freshened up in the paint department to be a show winner. The firewall has been recessed so that the Caddy big block could be installed low and back a bit. This recess elimitated the stock heater and defroster location and the heater was never reinstalled (no problem if you only drive on nice days!). There is room for an aftermarket system if you are so inclined to do so. The ONLY visible rust is found in the areas where the door handles were replaced and the original handles were located, also where the tailgate was molded in. These areas do not appear terrible and should be a simple fix when painted. The glass is all there and not broken, but the wing windows need replacing and the back window is starting to fog up. The door felts and gaskets need replacing also. Needs new tires. Although the Odometer currently shows 775 miles, it is unknown how many actual miles are on the truck. This is a used custom...there are no warranties implied or written. This truck is sold as is where is. The truck is also advertised locally. If sold before the auction ends, I will post a notice. Given all these things...this truck is a driver. You can drive it the way it is, or, freshen it up and have a show winner!
