First of all, thank you for viewing my auction. I ended the auction the first time listed due to a husband and wife that said they wanted it, then did not complete the sale, so I am listing it here again. Don't miss out this time, for those 89 people that had this car on their watch list!! After being disappointed by all the ratty other 5.0's out there and looking at this car, feel free to message me. I am both a PS and TRS on ebay, which less than 1% of seller are, and have a 100% positive feedback score, so have no worries. Please take the time to allow the 200+ detailed photos to load, it is worth the wait, and PLEASE read the entire description before asking questions (I know it is long, but I wanted to cover all bases!!) If you are serious, I know you will read every word, then this is the car for those of you. I am listing this 1988 Mustang GT 5.0 convertible as part of my private collection, never offered for sale before. Dinah Shore was lent this car by Ford for the 1988 Dinah Shore Golf Classic in Palm Springs, CA,  and put 420 miles on it. She enjoyed the car so much, that her good friends bought it (a husband and wife in their 60's) and have been the only registered owners since new. Dinah would often drive it when visiting her friends and was very fond of this car. When she passed away, this car was at her memorial service. Only 1 female owner (and her husband, but she was the driver of it) since new who has also passed. Southern CA, dry, desert car its whole life. I own a Mustang shop that has been in business for 18 years and am very particular with these cars and just finished a $9K+ restification of the whole car from top to bottom in honor of the dearly departed ladies. I have maintained this car for the original owners since the mid 90's. I have the original title issued in 1990 when the car's loan was paid off in the original owner's names. Car has never been abused, wrecked, damaged, bumped, scratched, and never been in the rain. This car is ready to compete and win at any MCA show. There just aren't many cars of this caliber out there, even at MCA shows! This car will continue to climb in value if kept in this condition. Fully loaded and show quality from top to bottom. Shine is much better than the car had when new!! No dings, scratches, road rash, chips, or dents and never any rust or accidents. All OEM Ford body panels with original VIN stickers on every body panel. Never been put on a lift incorrectly, never been bottomed out. Look at the cross braces and bumper edges! Never a bent body panel, floor pan, or frame rail. Look at the attention to detail and correctness all over this car! All wiring is original to the car and never been spliced. No electrical draws even when sitting for 2 weeks, it still starts right up. Again, please take the time to look at the 200+ detailed pictures. Car is appraised and insured for $15K on a collector car policy and it is $270 per year for full coverage and agreed value of $15K. Most insurance companies will do the same for you and insure it as a collector car. I would rate this car at MCA Concours Gold level, not too far off from Concours Thoroughbred. The only things you would probably need between the two classes is a period correct Motorcraft battery, oil filter, and now made again Goodyear Gatorback tires.   I would like to add, this car has the ORIGINAL 85 MPH speedometer/odometer...the 140 unit wasn't installed in these cars until late 89, so any 87 or 88 Mustang that has a 140 MPH speedometer or a 140 that says "Ford Motorsport" on it has guaranteed to have not been in the car when new and not the original mileage. Just a heads up as a few "low mileage" ones have popped up lately with 140 MPH speedos. Look at all the chips, poor paint, and rust on everything, plus no underside shots on those I am referring to! Also, this car has not had holes drilled in the console to fit an aftermarket radio, this one still has the original, functioning am/fm cassette which works and looks like new with no burnt out bulbs or display like any other that does have its original radio!! Oil has been changed every 3K miles or 6 months with the Mobil 1 10W 30 synthetic. First oil change was done at 500 miles with Ford non-synthetic, and the second done at 2500 miles with Ford non-synthetic. All oil changes since have been Mobil 1 synthetic. Even when stored, oil has been religiously changed every 6 months. Less than 300 miles have been put on this car since 2000. It has always been started up and allowed to get up to operating temperature every few weeks, then driven around the block to keep all seals lubricated and to keep everything in operating condition. No power steering moan or loud fuel pump like most have. Everything works, even the original seat belt retractors when you open the doors!!  Underside, and inside of wheels detailed frequently since new as is the exterior and interior. Carpets have never been shampooed , and still look like new. Car is has also always been garaged, except when at events, but covered when possible. Look at the trunk, even the original trunk mat looks like new, never any leaking fluids in there...try finding a fiber board to cover spare tire that looks like this one!! Spare never on the ground. This car is impeccable for the price. No accidents, and no modifications. Engine is untouched, except for maintenance. No leaks or seaps. A/C ice cold. Never modified or driven by kids. Even the original Ford logo mufflers are still present, original date coded spark plug wires and separators, original distributor boot,  as is the original air intake silencer!!  Top, pads and glass rear window are new as are many other components. Top is tight, fits and operates properly, and installed professionally and does not leak. Anything that did not work properly has always been rebuilt or replaced. Many obsolete NOS parts used. 4 speed AOD automatic overdrive transmission was fully professionally rebuilt at 38K (from age, not mileage) and shifts perfectly and smoothly. Car looks, runs, drives, handles and shifts like a 10K mile car, kick down works and no slipping overdrive!!! Never wrecked or bumped. Always adult driven and respected. Ashtray door, console door, floor mats etc are all perfect and still function as intended. Cigarette lighter works and never used to light anything.  Ice cold A/C. Car does not overheat even in 120 degree weather. Coolant changed every 2 years with proper green coolant and distilled water. New fan and fan clutch. I let the car idle for 45 minutes in 120 degree heat this summer and it did not get 1/2 way on the temperature gauge. I then drove it to make sure there were no issues, pinging, or vibrations...no problems.  Car is meant to be driven and enjoyed. Looks like a 10K mile car. Car has always been garaged and most of the miles came from driving it on nice days a couple times per week and to several Mustang shows through-out the years. Never raced or abused.  You are better off getting one of these cars that have been driven and properly maintained than one with super low miles that has not been properly stored or has dried up seals. Nothing leaks or seaps on this car (even rear main seal doesn't seap) and it burns no oil. Compression is with in 2% on every cylinder. Timing chain is tight. Starts right up, first time, every time. Idles smoothly. No hesitations. Very smooth power. Gets 25+ MPG on the freeway!! Brakes front and rear are firm. No shimmies or pulls when you step on the brakes. Original OEM exhaust system still intact and sounds great. Many expensive NOS parts used on this car through-out   Never been smoked in, no stains, still smells new. ( Floor mats always covered when driven) Ashtray and cigarette lighter never used, not even for coins or junk to mar the ashtray! Original premium sound system with amplifier and cassette works great with no burned out display or lights, no farting speakers. All vents have their original, white silk screening that is un-faded, and un-marred!!  Car is VERY clean top to bottom, original top boot still in trunk with no fading or broken snaps, in original storage bag!! Steering wheel is like new. Cruise control buttons and turn signal indicator have no worn silk screening or fading like most. Original spare tire, jack, tire iron, and hold down hardware all intact. All power options work perfect including power top (goes up and down fast!) and cruise control. Speedometer works perfect and doesn't bounce or stick like most. All signals have original Ford scripting on them and work perfectly with no cloudiness or fading. Entire car was disassembled and re-done WAY better than Ford did it...hood, front and rear bumpers, side moldings, trunk lid, and ground effects were removed, stripped, primed 3X and block sanded to perfection, and repainted with 4 coats of base and 4 coats of clear, by my painter that does $100K+ restorations, then paint was color sanded and buffed panel by panel. All factory ripples removed. Much better job than factory, plus more shine and durability. It is actually impossible to get pictures of this car in sunlight it is so bright, it overexposes the camera!!  It all matches perfect, and you can not tell anything has been painted. No road rash, dullness, or scuffs like any others out there. All body panels and bumpers are original to the car. Over $4K spent just on painting materials alone, and another $3K in labor. No expense spared and nothing left on the car. Done the best way possible, like a $100K+ Shelby!! You will not find a nicer paint job on a Fox body!! No mask lines, overspray, fish eyes, dirt, runs, orange peel, etc. All trim was removed and  refinished professionally by my Mustang shop....all front and rear window moldings, side moldings, door handles, side mirrors, cowl grill, antennae mast/base, upper door trims, luggage rack (correct rivets too), and quarter windows. All lock cylinders have NOS Ford gaskets too. I have owned over 100 Cobras, Cobra R's, Saleen's and other Fox bodies and am VERY familiar with these cars!! I know what to look at and what they are and were from new. Look at how well all the body panels and windows line up!! Every correct clip, nut, bolt, rivet, plug, sticker, rubber bumper, etc is correct on this car!! I do not need any lectures as to what is there and not. This is not a clean up and sell, everything is as correct as possible. Care, thought, and attention to detail is present on every aspect of this car. This is a beautiful car and PERFECTLY balanced as far as looks, safety, economy, handling, braking, comfort, reliability, sound, and performance!! It is like stepping back to a Ford showroom in 1988!! Re-live your childhood with something you didn't have the means to buy new, replace one you used to own, or add another to your collection of other worthwhile cars. You can drive this car anywhere with no issues (although I'd suggest replacing tires for any long distance trips as they are very old, but have lots of tread left) This is the most balanced Fox body you will ever drive. You will not find a nicer one for the money that is all stock and to this caliber. These cars are getting very hard to find.  No front license plate bracket like the others listed (still in the trunk), and this car is a CA car, not a car stored in humid salty air like the others out there either that do not have any underside photos. This is why I took as many pictures as I did, including the underside, so you can see how well preserved this car is. All the original underside overspray, markings, drips, stickers, etc are there!!!  New: alignment, distributor cap, spark plugs, belt, fuel and air filters, fuel pump and sock, fluids, fan and fan clutch, OEM style pony logo thick pile correct floor mats, rebuilt window motors, all new NOS Ford window and lock switches and bezels, New door lock actuators, NOS hood liner, emblems, air deflector, etc. Most weatherstrips have also been replaced. Windows and doors line up correctly and do not sag.  Top is new Robbins 6 layer in correct Oxford white and has a new glass rear window. Power mirrors work in all 4 positions each. Seats are all original with only the driver's seat starting to show minimal wear (replacement upholstery is available, but I did not change due to Dinah Shore sitting in this seat, for those that care). Windshield is a new OEM Carlite with pony logo as is the surround weatherstrip. Steering rack, alternator, A/C compressor, water pump, and power steering pump have been rebuilt. Injectors were removed, rebuilt and flowed with in 1% tolerance of each other and new o-rings installed. A/C system is converted to R134 and blows ice cold. Heater core is new and heat is hot. New sway bar bushings. All suspension is tight and car tracks down the road like new. It is not all over the road like most you will drive. Car has been impeccably maintained and all services have been done before needed. Nothing overlooked! Any questions, please message me and I will respond promptly. All power windows and locks work perfect, no burnt out bulbs anywhere (including the radio too), original owners manuals and handouts, and original color 19 page dealer brochure.  Lots of NOS parts used on this car. Anything that didn't look or perform perfect, was replaced, or rebuilt, mostly with in the last few months. You will be the 2nd owner on record of this time machine. This Mustang runs and drives excellent and has never been raced, modified or abused. There are no odd odors, odd rattles, or odd noises. You can drive this car anywhere. Mileage may also vary minimally as car may be driven for test drives and/or inspections. Please feel free to ask questions and I will answer promptly. This is not your average $5-8K 5.0 that you find all day that needs $10K+ worth of work. If you want a project, buy one, then this is not the car for you. If you want a car ready to go, you just found it. This car is a no excuse honest car, that needs nothing. True collector quality, 1 owner, no excuse, survivor with a great history.   Remember, you get what you pay for, this car does not need ANYTHING!! The paint and color combination is simply stunning.
