Ready for a cross country trip tomorrow-hate to sell it, but too many bikes in the garage. Paint is in good shape for a bike this year and mileage however there are some scuffs on left bag and belly pan from rubbing against something in trailer-additional pics available upon request. Custom front and rear seat and custom trunk pad (Brown Leather) NOT included in the sale-stock, standard height OEM seats and backrest pad will be placed on the bike for the new buyer. Garmin Zumo 550 GPS/XM, XM antennea (mounted below fairing plastic) and Touratech Mount can be added to final sale for an additional $500 ($1200 retail) if the new buyer requests but are otherwise NOT included in the sale. Delivery considered to any location along the I 50 corridor or below if buyer pays all travel expenses including my flight home. (I can cover 1000 miles a day). On Dec-28-12 at 10:14:09 PST, seller added the following information: The 2004 is the last year of the "Oil Head" motor and reflects the 10 years of factory "fine tuning" that took place during that time. This is the last and most consider the best 1150-the look of the fairing, the sexy curves of the fairing is clearly the best looking RT ever made according to many. It's also the last year BMWs came with fuses-in 2005 all BMWs went to the "Can-Bus" fuse less system and some, myself included prefer actual fuses-much easier to trouble shoot and correct a non-working electrical component or light on the road! Additionally, the 2004 was the only year the factory added a second spark plug to each cylinder and although BMW won't admit it, many early 1150s had a rough idle and many owners complained of "surging" where the RPMs would fluctuate when the cruise control was set-none of the 2004 1150s including this one had any such issues. In 2005 the RT became the 1200 "Hex Head" and the bike was completely redesigned. This bike also features Power-assist linked braking (both 'rear' brake pedal and 'front' brake lever actually activate both wheels and the ABS computer will actually distribute braking to the front and rear depending on the braking environment. In addition to the standard 60,000 service, the fork seals were replaced. This bike never burned much oil-1/2 quart for every 5000 miles or so. On Dec-31-12 at 21:34:44 PST, seller added the following information: I have had several inquiries regarding the seats-they are my seats, from my company-Rick Mayer Cycle, I'm Rick. They are about 4" taller than stock and very firm for LD riding, the novice rider may find them too tall and the casual rider (not a long distance rider) may find the seats too firm-however if the buyer wishes to keep these seats on the bike, and the backrest-I would want $400 for all three pieces. Note-the rear seat and backrest are heated and all three seats would retail for over $700. On Jan-02-13 at 21:00:47 PST, seller added the following information: more inquiries about the seats--if the buyer would like the seats at the added-on price already mentioned of $400, I am happy to re-work the seats to the satisfaction of the new buyer at no charge-I'll even cover the shipping. I mentioned the seats are higher than stock (about 4") so if the new buyer needs them lower, I am happy to that at no charge-seats is what I do after all.
