Vehicle Detail
1926 Dodge Sedan, This went thru a semi restoration back in the 80's and it was not a professional job. Then it basically sat from the early 90's till I got it around 2005 then completely went thru the fuel system to clean it to get it running again. This vehicle does start and drive as is, but it does need work and TLC. It does have the original motor and top speed I ever had it to was about 42 MPH. It does have some minor leaks as the packings have been sitting for some time. The car is located just outside of Houston TX area and I am now working overseas. So needless to say it sits in my garage right next to my 60 Dodge pick up and my wife does not start it and it is a dust collector since I only get a chance to come home for 2 weeks at a time twice a year. My wife and my step son can assist you if you buy it and plan on picking it up or shipping. I am not in the position to give this away or need the money, so I will not even consider low ball offers, nor will I offer second chance if it does not reach the reserve. It makes no difference to me if I keep it or sell it. This car is not in show condition, and it does need work, it would make a wonderful project for the classic Mopar guy. I never had the guts to turn into a street rod even thou I like them better than original and have a 331 hemi sitting in the garage. I know for a fact that the coolant leaks around the packings at the water pump and the packing has a leak around the hand crank causing oil to splatter on the front of the car. This is a minor leak here and I do not go thru a quart of oil a year in it for driving it for 4 weeks or for you that would be less than a quart of per month but it really needs to be mentioned and addressed. This also has an electric start It is a 12 V system positive ground, electric start as well as hand crank and I have the hand crank for it. If you are looking for a 1926 that is in perfect condition, keep looking, if you are looking for a 1926 that needs some TLC and not any major work then here you go, If you are looking for a project for a full restoration or to street rod or rat rod this is not a pile of rust like some I have seen here on ebay. I actually saw a 26 here a few months ago that was a bucket of rust frame and body only selling for a few dollars less than what I am asking for this. The fan pully broke and currently I use an electric fan but have the fan blade and bracket to give with the car, just need to manufacture a new shaft with pulley to put it back on. I just don't have the time to work on it. When I do come home for that 2 week span my interest are putting a key in a vehicle and driving and cruising and not being in the garage working on one. The picture of the 6 foot gorrilla (Clyde) stays with the car as long as the new owner promises to give him a good home, feed him well, as he is the protector of the car and rides in the back seat with me everywhere I go in it. He also a good conversation piece with the kids that like to come and pet him, he likes that and he loves kids. He wont harm them at all. Shipping is buyers responsibility, vehicle does not leave my house until all funds clear my bank. You are more than welcome to come and look at it, ask questions if you do not know or unsure about anything. Yes I do have a reserve on the vehicle and bid what you think it is worth, feel free to email me an offer, and reserve will only be known if it is met. I do not have the car listed locally however if someone sends me an offer I like I would sell it and end the auction early. Possible trades with cash exchange either way, however I am only interested in pre 1979 Mopar products or maybe a 1 ton to 2 ton international or Studebaker truck only.. Anything other than that I am not interested in. Less than 10 feedback contact me prior to bidding or your bid will be canceled. This is a car made in the USA and shall remain in the USA and I am not interested in any overseas bidders. If you live outside the US don't bother bidding as it will be canceled. Good Luck and happy bidding.
