V8 engine, Turbine Drive automatic transmission, Mirromagic instrument panel, 2 speed wipers, power steering and power brakes. The interior, dashboard and glass are perfect and the car still has all the original chrome trim. This would make an easy project car or an exceptionally complete parts car. In 1998, I put the wrong fuel filter on the engine, which caused gasoline to leak on top of the engine and catch fire. The fire was quickly extinguished and the wiring harness didn’t suffer any damage. The engine was overhauled and it was back on the road in a couple of months. The car has been on blocks since about 2000, which is roughly the last time it was driven. I got a safer, more modern car for college in the hopes that, after graduation, I’d repaint and tune up the Buick. Life had other plans and the Buick has stayed on blocks at my parent’s home in Wichita, KS. OTHER NOTES The Buick’s hood needs to be aligned. Part of the problem is that the driver’s side hinge suffered heat damage and is slightly bent. I cut a small rectangle in the inside of the engine bay to help the hood shut more easily. The front edge of the hood has rust spots, some of which have eaten through the metal. There are two rusted spots on the top back corners of the hood from the fire. And rust on the front right of the hood. The trunk pan is rusty but still feels pretty solid. Other small scrapes and rust spots are shown in photos. Front right passenger door won’t open. I think the rusted window strip (see photo) is causing the problem, but I don’t want to force it and risk breaking anything. There are two holes under the back window for 6x9 speakers (not included). There’s also an amp and 10-disc Kenwood CD changer in the back that that is controlled by an AM/FM and cassette player. Original AM radio and dash speaker are in excellent condition (stored indoors) and can be replaced with minimal effort. If you have any additional questions, please message me BEFORE you bid.
