They had it serviced regularly at Dean McCrary Porsche in Mobile, Alabama and when not driving it, stored it in a temperature controlled garage. They recently purchased another Porsche and wanted to do something worthwhile with this one and we are very appreciative. The car is in wonderful condition, drives like a dream... a powerful dream (corners like it's on rails!). The body is in great condition and the leather interior is flawless, 3 tires are in good condition and one is brand new. Naughty or Nice... You will look great driving this Porsche. Good luck and happy holidays! A little history:While generally referred to as a 911, the Porsche 993 model, made from 1995 to 1998, holds a special place to Porsche enthusiasts. Starting in the early 1950’s with the 356 models (4 cylinder) and on to the 911’s which started production in 1964 (6 cylinder), all of Porsche’s most popular cars were air cooled rear engine cars. Early 911 engines displaced only 2.0 liters, and by 1995 displacement had increased to 3.6 liters, accompanied by significant additional power output. Most importantly, however, the 993 model was and is the last air cooled Porsche 911 model. The 996 model followed, to which Porsche designers added water cooling to the engine. To most Porsche enthusiasts, the 993 is the last of the great 6 cylinder Porsche cars, which compromised some creature comforts for superior handling and all round performance. As a result, they are preferred by Porsche purists over the later models, and have held their values accordingly. On the used car market, good condition low mileage 993’s are consistently priced higher than the newer 996 models. A well maintained Porsche 993 in good condition will continue to hold its value over the coming years, and will likely be considered collectible in the future. On Dec-17-12 at 15:18:47 PST, seller added the following information: We have had several inquiries regarding the oil leak so I took it to my local mechanic so that I could provide specific information for interested bidders. They said the drivers side valve cover gasket is leaking and that when that is repaired we would probably want to go ahead and replace plug wires as well. Automobile is running fine, not missing.
