1986 Corvette I have owned for about 8 years. I purchased it from a couple that had owned it for about 10 years. They told me that it was stolen before they bought it and it had had its motor blown up and interior stripped. The insurance company had totaled it and they bought it from the salvage yard. Hence the Salvage title. They replaced the motor with a factory replacement and replaced all the interior and had been driving it for the last 10 or so years. Since I have had it I have rebuilt the transmission with all the good parts including late model clutch packs etc, replaced the door panels to match the original color as they were incorrect for the year and replaced an worn bezels and switches related. Added the ZR-1 style wheels and tires. Replaced all the door, window and removable hard top rubber with the exception of the two small strips on the hard top itself. These need replacing and are inexpensive. I have also replaced the heater valve pipe, front axles, front disc pads, starter, battery and cables The paint is in good condition with a few chips and scratches here and there but as you can see the car is probably on of the best examples available for the year. The engine runs very well, the only issue is the RH valve cover gasket needs replacing as it leaks a small amount of oil onto the header if it is left sitting for any long period of time. I have been very honest about the condition of this car and hopefully some one will buy this car and continue to maintain it as I have done
