FOR MORE PHOTOS: ://www.flickr.com/photos/89831828@N05/ I purchased this car from the original owner in Tacoma, Wa. for $8600 (I am moving out of the country hence the motivated sale price). It was the most original '68 Mercury Cougar I could find after looking for 2 months. I purchased it and drove it the entire 1000 miles back to Los Angeles, there were absolutely no problems during the drive and as we cruised into LA I knew it was a great car. Ever since I have enjoyed the privilege of driving a car that is a real head turner and has amazing performance to match its great condition. The car starts on the first try, the engine has been very well maintained and has absolutely no issues. It is a 302 V-8 and everything from the block to the air filter is totally original under the hood. Like I said, it starts right up and purrs right off the bat.The sequential turn signals and hide away headlights work great. I think the Cougars along with Mustangs represent a fabulous period of American automotive art. Its a great deal, the car is more than capable of being a daily driver or taking a long road trip and is not that far from being show worthy. Some extra features: new tires, new brakes, a recently restored automatic transmission with less than 1K miles on it, a 4 barrel holley carbeurator, new struts and engine mounts, a totally original interior, a flawless suspension and a recently restored automatic transmission. The car has never been in even a fender bender and there is absolutely no rust or cancer anywhere- not even behind the wheelwells or under the chassis. The only things that arent original are the rims and the stereo (cassette player!), otherwise its practically a time machine. The car purrs and growls and is so hard to let go of, but those are the breaks- I would say get a great deal while you can- honestly. All scheduled maintenance including regular tune ups, oil changes and radiator/ fluid flushes have always been done in the 3 years that Ive owned it. The custom wheels- which came with the car actually make it look even better than the originals could, Looks & runs great, Low mileage (97K), Never seen snow, Must see, New tires, No accidents, Perfect first car, Runs & drives great, Upgraded sound system, Very clean interior, Well maintained.FOR MORE PHOTOS: http://www.flickr.com/photos/89831828@N05/ Call Michael at 310-867-0141 to take a closer look.
