Here we have a '61 VW beetle coupe. While there are still many of these cars on the road today..rarely do you see one done up with the right "look". If attention and thumbs up doesn't make you smile then I would look at another car. This car has been in a couple of magazine articles as it should. while it is not a 100% head to toe fresh restoration it is a very nice solid and reliable driver quality bug. The car was cosmetically restored a few years back and has held up well. This is an accident damage free bug. The underside belly pans and heat tube areas are exceptionally solid. I don't care what part of the country you live in, you see one for sale on the side of the road, read the ad and look underneath and there it is...a soft and pinholed mess of a floor pan. well this is not the case here and the pictures prove it. The paint is nice but not show quality. Meaning it is not a 10/10 but I would rate a 6 1/2-7. It does have some nicks here and there but it proves that this car is driven and meant to be driven. There is a spot on the driver side rear quarter that looks to have had some repair. The paint is crackled a little and there is a close up of it. Previous owner said it has been that way for many years and has not changed. The motor is not original but is a 70's version that was rebuilt. It is a 1600 with dual port relief case,single port heads, new pistons,heads,jugs and carb. it also has been converted to 12 volts via a bosch alternator. It has been lowered 5 " to give it that killer stance. A narrowed front I beam with cut down shock towers take care of the front end. The rear has welded adjusters with 2 splines. The radio is about the only thing not working. Interior is very nice and has no rips or tears. Car runs great is easy to drive but the smoother the road the better for cruzing. car is sold as is where is. clean title and its ready to go. Car is available for viewing and resides in oak creek wi. 90 miles north of chicago and is a suburb of milwaukee.
