Vehicle Detail
This is a very nice original 1981 Rabbit Pickup. It spent most of its life towed behind a motor home. Spending winters in Florida, spending its whole life garaged. I bought it to save money driving to work. I have since changed jobs and live 4 miles from work not 35 so I really don't need it any longer. To make it dependable for work I performed the following upgrades. Complete brake overhaul(Rotors, wheel cylinders, lines, new pads and linings) new front struts, clutch cable, emergency brake cable, all front end and steering bushings, timing belt, intermediate shaft and bearings, new wheel bearings, all new fluids and filters, recharged air conditioner, new floor mats, steering wheel cover, and seat covers. This is a completely rust free truck. The paint is original, after I buffed it out, it is very shiny with very few road chips. No fading at all. The interior is also great. No cracked dash, no torn or ripped seats. the headliner is a 10. The clock works most of the time. The original radio also works fine. The carpet was shampooed and is also in great shape with no worn spots. All other dash lights and gauges also work fine. The wipers were upgraded to two speed. I sand blasted and repainted the wheels and added stainless steel trim rings. The tires are about 80%. The only thing I didn't get to was detail the engine compartment. The truck drives straight and smoothly, the 5 speed is tight and the clutch solid. With no bumps or rattles as it drives down the road. I would drive this truck anywhere. I have done several 400 mile interstate runs at 65 - 70 mph with no problems. My average mileage was 45 to 50. This would be a great truck for a collector, or a daily driver as it was for me.
